It's seriously worrying how hot that guy is... I mean, it's simply not natural for a man to be THAT hot...

I think I've figured out what is going on here. I think Clark has to perform a save on an off-shore oil platform. It makes sense since Cavill appears to have his Alaskan beard. Also, that setting is consistent with the clothing of the other men. Also, the remote location and the number of people on the rig makes sense why Cavill is flagging down a rescue helicopter and helping the victims aboard than trying to fly them all out himself. Also, the functional rooftop design of the helipad is consistent with oil rigs.

Damn, this would make a awesome shot in the suit.

This is exactly what I was wanting, Clark traveling the world helping people where he's needed before he even puts on the suit, just like in Birthright. Just looks like Africa is substituted for Alaska.

The newest pictures of Cavill really remind me of those pictures of Bale that surfaced during the shooting of Batman Begins.. the ones that really showed Bale was in superb Batman shape.

I can tell you three groups of people that will attend this movie heavily:

1. Superman fans (duh)
2. Straight/bi women
3. Gay/bi men

Cavill will be a huge sex symbol. The guy is a seriously impressive physical specimen.

It will be nice when we can actually talk about Cavill's portrayal as Superman and Clark Kent once some footage comes out rather than abs and biceps for weeks on end.

True, because that is a huge part of what will make or break the movie.

I will say that these scenes emphasizing his physicality and sexuality do reflect on how the character himself will be portrayed, as they seem to really be playing up the "man" aspect of Superman-that is giving some very masculine scenes of Cavill out of costume. It's part of why the costume itself being so effeminate is annoying to me.

Effeminate? How so?

You're telling me wearing red underwear over his pants would have made him look more masculine?

Chris Reeve was Neal Adams' and Curt Swan's Superman brought to life. And now, in Henry Cavill we are getting John Byrne's and Jim Lee's Superman!! This is looking better and better!!

When you see trunks on a costume, the first thing that comes to mind is a comic book superhero.

When you see the silly flower patterns on the sides and waist of the MOS costume, the first thing I think of is a tattoo on a woman. It reminds me of Black Orchid's costume a little. I think it would look good on a woman. On a man, it looks stupid. It looks stupid on Supes and it looks stupid on Zod. And it looks stupid because you have this very basic costume with all this needless crap in the middle. It has no symmetry, no balance and it makes no sense. As I said before, if they just HAD to get rid of the trunks because Superman looking like GASP a superhero was SOOOOO terrible, then they could have kept the belt and just added red stripes down the legs. Then it would be simple, it would look a little like something from Flash Gordon and also a little like Han Solo's pants, it would still look manly, and the trunks which seem to upset so many people for whatever reason would be gone. I'm glad they replaced the trunks with something since Joe Shuster's costume design is no longer good enough for the character he created, according to the director of Sucker Punch, but what they did do looks stupid as hell on a man.
