So I take it you don't like it.
![]() Fairy Tail is pretty awesome but lately it has been inundated with fan service. |

I find it ok, but i'm just in episode 15 and it kind of seems like a cheaper version of One Piece, the jokes every 20 seconds during the fights are what kills it for me.

Well that's essentially been replaced by fan service galore in recent chapters in the manga. Less jokes more "fan service".
Not sure if that's really a positive thing though. |

Hard to tell over the gratuitous shots of girls in every other panel.
![]() To be honest I haven't really kept up with the story. I just check out a chapter every now and then and the fan service is all I've noticed. From what I gather it's still the same stuff with the guild vs guild and whatnot. If I had to recommend reading anything right now it'd be Ao No Exorcist and Soul Eater. Those along with Bleach is all I've been reading. |

I just finished being up to date with Bleach and was checking if Fairy Tail was worth it too, after this i was going to try to be up to date with One Piece, which from what i hear is getting better with time. Right now i'm only following Bleach and Naruto up to date.
Blue Exorcist (Ao No Exorcist) does seem interesting, i may pick the volumes when i find them, from what i heard of Fairy Tail now it was that it has been Trolling after trolling, Bleach has it too, but i kind of found Aizen trolling the entire Gotei a cool moment. |

The Aizen mind messing was incredible. No villain other than Sensui in shonen has reached that level of villainous maliciousness . Actually Light Yagami was up there as well.
Those three were so fun to watch. No villain in Fairy Tail has been that memorable. I really enjoy Fairy Tail but its lack of a strong antagonist is quite the weak spot. |

Yeah, i think an antagonist as cool as Aizen is needed, One Piece doesn't have a central antagonist but is full of cool villains. I went to see Bleach not expecting much as i was at the time liking Tobi and other Naruto villains, but then Aizen appeared, and he just kept going higher in my consideration of him. But he was cooler while in his normal form before he turned into a butterfly.

When I saw, in the anime, the way Lisanna had died, I was actually shocked, like ''damn''. It was well done. But them, later on, we find out that she was actually alive this whole time. I get no sense of danger anymore because I know they'll win in the end. But I still watch it for its triumphal moments. That is, whenever they're beaten up, then they rise and the main theme song starts to play. So awesome.

Reading this since I got tired of Bleach and Naruto
Plus I can't fine more volumes of Vagabond after v27 (I think), which is one of the most entertaining comic series imo, comes high up since I love Samurai stuff and swords Reached v16 now, read up until chapter 130 and it's a fun series Chapter 125 is one of those chapters full of corn, must be the corniest chapter I read in the series so far I applause the lack of a main overlong villain with too much focus on, (there is that one lady from the council working with Gerald, or using him, but I didn't reach how she was explained), it's one of the things that damaged Naruuto and Bleach to a high extent, one of the things I'm hoping the experience doesn't get damaged like those two series (Naruto and Bleach), although so far I didn't see what damaged them for me Didn't check OnePiece, not sure I will do that anytime soon

I'm in the Edolas arc right now, things have gotten much, much better, there have actually been son decent villains, and the soundtrack normally helps them feel more threatening, however, is still don't think Fairy Tail's very special, i feel like it lacks the originality that built One Piece, Bleach, Naruto and Hunter X Hunter.
@Spider-Aziz - Strange you're checking Fairy Tail instead of One Piece, i only watched some 100 something episodes some years ago and i'm going to watch again from the begining once i catch up with FT, One Piece's outsold the Harry Potter books, Dragon Ball and the sales of Bleach and Naruto together in japan, everybody's praising it repeatedly saying that unlike Bleach and Naruto, it never disapoints and just gets better and better. And from what i saw and read of both series most of the time Fairy Tail just seems like a weaker version of One Piece, in least when it comes to the characters and some parts of the story. On the whole Fairy Tail is ok, the begining is weak, the middle is ok with some good moments, but the action is very repetitive and the series doesn't feel very original, seems like every shonen cliche and character put into a single series. On another note i also started to watch the new Hunter X Hunter anime and that one doesn't disapoint, one of the best shonens around. |

I thought the Edolas arc was the weakest so far. I felt it was annoying that they couldn't use magic for most of the time.
But the following arc is much, much better.

I think that Edolas had an interesting take on alternative universes, and i'm normally tired of that concept, the last part of the arc left a bit to be desired but as a whole it was a good arc. I heard the next arc's villain was defeated off-panel quite easily, and after that it's the time-skip.

You see the whole fight in the anime, don't worry. And the fight is pretty cool.

Was it off-panel? I seem to remember it was there. Unless you're talking about when he was finally finished off which was basically shown.
