Yes well, you can't expect every to sound the same after a couple of years.

She should have been told to take Harley into her own direction, not trying to replicate another voice actor's style. It's like if they wish to replace Mark Hamill with a youtube star who has done a decent Hamill impersonation.

I'm hoping Conroy bows out after Justice League
oom. Sacrilege, I know but I think its time we gave the role to someone else.I know Conroy is to Bat-fans what Peter Cullen is to TF fans but there are others who could add different layers to the role.

it is a sequel so you'd want to maintain some sort of continuity from game to game
I didn't mind it and its not like Harley is all that involved any way |

Considering how small her role was in the game, I don't think Tara Strong had that much time to be bothered.

agreed....time moves on....I know he's only done it once but I think Jeremy Sisto did a great job with Batman in New Frontier, I think given more opportunity he could be really good

The guy who plays Batman in Young Justice is pretty solid I think. He does have a bit of an aged feel to his voice. But I think it suits the character.

And I really love him for it. But see, he wasn't the only voice that made the character work. Efreem Zimbalist Jr., Mike Ansara, Mark Hamill, the dude who voiced Gordon...all these guys complimented the hell out of each other. I don't know who casted the voice work for Arkham City. I'm not saying he or she did a bad job but I think it lacks that special Romano touch. Kevin Conroy can play the best Batman he's ever been but if he doesn't have a decent cast to work with it would be pretty redundant.

Oh hey. I didn't know he carried on with the role after Under The Red Hood. That's actually quite promising. Hope he manages to keep the role.

I dunno, the Penguin sounding like a Brit gangster was...different. I preferred his cultured version in B:TAS. Though I was impressed when I found out he was played by Nolan North.

Greenwood is pretty good.
There's been worse times for a passing of the baton, at least there's acceptable alternatives... Although I'd prefer it if we could just clone Conroy and put the clone on stand-by in case anything happens to the original...

I liked this iteration and his backstory makes sense....he was sent off to boarding school in England at a very young age...hated it there and started hanging around with crooks and underworld types
he's still cultured, but not aristocratic sounding |

It's funny how we can't seem to let go of these things. There are some voices people just can't forget, whether its Conroy as Batman, Ironside as Fisher (or Darkseid for that matter), David Hayter as Solid Snake, Frank Welker as Soundwave... I used to think voice acting in American media was a pretty touch and go circle but I think its comparable in terms of fanbase to Japanese animation fans who literally worship their voice actors/actresses.

"...and you're insane to take that for granted because it's a day-players role. They hate to tie down an established character to a single actor, because the character never asks for more money, but the actor will." - Billy West

I'm having a similar argument in the Indy V thread. I'm for finally getting a new Indy in there. A "Roger Moore" for the franchise, if you will and I'm surprised at the level of selfish attachment people have to certain personalities.

Which is kind of why I hope game studios never make enough money to bring in big Hollywood name. I mean it is kind of happening now. Hear Sasha Grey is making a cameo in Saints Row or something. Not Hollywood I know. But it may happen sooner rather than later.
