then maybe they need to broaden their view.....depends on the job...there is work out there....its ******, but its a job

Problem is those jobs are taken as well.

They said they were hiring 900 people in McDonalds throughout the Chicago Area, 200,000 people showed up.

I'm just sayin', it's easy to sit there while you got a job and complain, but man, you mofo's don't know what it's like out there. Hopelessness is the word of the day.

but how did it get to that point? companies expanding unnecessarily, coupled with a shrinking economy?

i know exactly what it's like out there, that's why i am where i am now. there are jobs out there, they suck and they pay for **** but they're out there.

No, there aren't. Like I said, half a million people, trying to get 10,000 jobs. Jobs that they are Waaaaaay over qualified for. Jobs cleaning motels rooms. Jobs moving boxes. Jobs doing.....anything. There are not enough jobs for the people looking.

maybe it would do those people some good to get their hands dirty....we've got too many people thinking they deserve a 9-5 Monday through Friday office job

Im a 32 yo black man with a HS diploma and 4yrs in the service...no degree...yet I have managed to stay employed steadily since 2002

but some faux intellectual with a degree can't find a job? BS I say...he just can't find a job that will pay him the 64k a year that he think he deserves

Pretty much

And also even though places are hiring because of the credit crunch there are a ton of people who either lost their jobs or graduated college or university and there were no jobs hiring

So even though there are more places hiring now then there were three years ago there are a lot more people looking for work

So unless the economy gets a lot better and a lot more places start hiring there are always goung to be more people out of work than there are jobs

It's an awful situation and it also means that if you hate your job you can't quit it unless you win the lottery or something because the chances of finding a new job are not good

It's a crummy time to be looking for work

A lot of people do take those jobs, but they're still having problems because, frankly, those jobs don't pay anywhere near enough to cover their bills and costs of living and everything.

Ill be honest...I make less than 30K a year, but I manage to pay bills, rent, and save a little

The point I'm making is that, maybe it would do them some good to do jobs like that, but they can't get them because 2000 people are bidding for 3 jobs moving boxes.
