Interesting. Man Mintz-Plasse has either really put on weight or its just a bad picture of him

I just watched Kick Ass for the first time a few nights ago. I had heard of the film, and vaguely remember watching a trailer for it, but have no recollection of what I saw. Outside of this I knew nothing about it, nor did I come on here to discuss it with anyone. I was expecting a silly, light hearted, and non violent film about teens going out dressed as superheroes. When I saw Cage shooting Moretz in the chest I was kind of thrown for a loop. I was like, hmm, that's kind of unusual for the type of film I was watching, but let it go. It wasn't long after that that I was watching Moretz stabbing people and cutting off body parts to the tra la la song. The film got more and more violent as it went, and 99% of the violence was committed by a murderous 11 year old dressed in a silly purple costume.
In summary, this was easily the most violent and inappropriate teen film I've ever watched - and I loved ever minute of it. I wonder what the parent teacher council had to say about it. The film had the perfect blend of story, drama, and action. The score worked beautifully and may have been one of the best if not the best I heard all of 2012. It was a little weird hearing reused music from another film though, but it worked well. Hit Girl was my favorite character and really stole the show. |

Where are you from? Kick-Ass got a hard R rating in the states, so it definitely wasn't a "teen film" here.
Glad you liked it, and lord, you reviving this thread reminded me of THIS film. I had completely forgotten about its existence. Shouldn't we be be getting a trailer soon?

A trailer for the new film would be awesome. I'm kind of glad I haven't been sitting around for the last 2 plus years waiting for the sequel to come out. I love this shot. |

Is it me or have the shorten her skirt a lot? Not that it matters, but seems they've added touches of it to show she's grown up some.
Looking forward to this movie probably the most this year. Doubting it can top the first, and the emotion of it for me, but I think it should be very entertaining. |

Yeah, without that spandex we'd be hitting NC-17 territory.

Yeah its definitely shorter. She almost looks like Hit-Woman. Can't wait to see the trailer to see Hit-Girl in action. Hope they don't minimize her any in this sequel. I haven't read the books but she basically sold the first movie.

So I guess there's no Lieutenant Stripes being that Carrey's character is now called Colonel Stars and Stripes.

I wonder how much different the film will be compared to the comic book. The comic takes place very soon after the events in KA. I imagine years will have gone by in the film. I'm assuming they're not just going to ignore the fact that Hit Girl looks like a full grown teenager.

I figure it will be set two years later (so they can still both go to the same school), though it is a bit hard to believe considering it's been more like four years since they shot KA and it shows.
Honestly, the first one is so improbably good considering the source material, I don't think there is any chance this will work as well. But bringing Jim Carrey in and the clear rewrites they've taken with RM/MF show that it at least will likely be better than Millar's writing in the graphic novel. If that is the case, it should atl east be a solid sequel if nothing more.

I can't wait for this as KICK ASS is one of my favorite comic book films. I have high hopes but I just don't seeing any of the action sequences having the impact of Big Daddy's warehouse attack or Hit Girl's rescue. But I've liked the pics and what I've read so far.

I hope all four composers from Kick-Ass come back for this, but I've heard nothing.

I wish Matthew Vaughn had directed this.

I truly hope it isn't as held back as that. I understand her not teaming up with DAve until the third act. But she basically had no role in most of the book and that is a lazy way to write it.
