I'm a HUGE MotU fan. I refuse to believe anything will happen until the camera's are rolling, though. I will however think of a cast as I love fantasy casting :-B

JTT has a better voice for Orko, believe me

Orko being made with practical effects? You mean they will use a rope when the character flies/floats? And he shouldn't have black face/blue ears, but we should actually be looking at the character and recognize your choice of actor (Troyer). That would destroy the film completely.
After Troyer, who's next? Myers as Man-at-arms?

Mekaneck may not have an impressive power, but for a comrade to say that about a guy who was wounded in action and is fighting on your side, that's pretty despicable.

I haven't been keeping up with the Keith Giffen He-Man DC comics of late (only read that first volume where they all had amnesia), but it sounds like I'm not missing much. Sounds like Giffen's taking the "let's make a character (in this case Teela) a complete jackass so that the audience will be completely amazed at what a nice person the character turns into by the end of the story." Think J.J. Abrams approach to Kirk in his Star Trek reboot - Kirk is a complete jackass in the 2009 film for no better reason than he didn't get the childhood he thinks he deserved, and he doesn't actually start to grow up until 2013's "Into Darkness". I haven't taken the time to read any DC New 52 SHAZAM! but from what I understand this is how the New 52 approaches Billy Batson - obnoxious jerky teen who presumably will become a better person as he adjusts to being a superhero.

This is a tricky formula to do right since you always have to be careful about just how much of a jerk you want the character to be before they start growing up. And it sounds like Giffen's not doing it well either, among other things.

You forgot Shia Labeouf as Hordak, Johnny Depp as Mer-Man, Kate Gosselin as Queen Marlena, Will Ferrell as King Randor, Lindsay Lohan in the dual rule of She-Ra & Adora, and Michael Cera as Prince Adam.

But seriously, Jaimie Alexander as Evil-Lynn might actually work.

Where in my post did I say he shouldn't have a blacked out face or pointy blue ears? I never said that. What I said was "practical effects look better than CGI". Sure he'll have pointy blue ears and a blacked out face. They'll be done with prosthetic latex make up effects, possibly enhanced with CGI.

Look at the difference between the goblins & orcs in the LOTR Trilogy compared to the ones in The Hobbit Trilogy. The LOTR ones look awesome because they're people in costumes and make up. The Hobbit ones look like s**t because they're all CGI, and it's obvious that they are.

And look at Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. How crappy would the Headless Horseman have looked had he been a 100% CG character? Instead they got Ray "Darth Maul" Parks to dress up as The Horseman with a green hood on his head, then removed his head in post! Brilliant!

Everybody nowadays just wants to stick two or three actors in front of a green screen and add in all the monsters and FX with CG. Personally, I think that's kinda pathetic.

About turning good hearted characters into *******s, there are better options to update certain characters like that without having the usual as***e turns into hero, which is, by making the character strong willed about what he thinks is right, but ending up having weird morales. A person who tries to be good in a world that is not, look at Dany from Game of Thrones or Gon from Hunter x Hunter for example.

That is if you want to make a goody good character turn into something more credible or complex that is not the norm, otherwise, Adam should be like Luke Skywalker.

Well, of the three animated versions out there, I prefer the 2002 reboot. And in that version, Cringer/Battle-Cat couldn't talk, so I say "no" to a talking Cringer/Battle-Cat.

Watching the original toon, Battlecat rarely says anything all that interesting, aside from the occasional witty barb or just giving He-Man somebody to bounce obvious dialogue off of. There are plenty of fun hero/pet relationships in classic pulp literature (not to mention Disney movies) where only the hero is using words.

One of the few things I didn't like about the 02 show was that Cringer didn't talk.I really loved his character. He had no desire whatsoever to be Battle Cat. He was sort of the C-3PO of the He-Man Universe.

I'd have the non talking Cringer since I think the talking version just wouldn't work in the type of Human movie I'd want it to be.

That said I wouldn't be very annoyed if Cringer had to be axed in order to save money for other cgi effects, provided that those effects were well done.

Meh, 80s talking Battlecat wasn't that funny, and I don't think that would've translated well to the 2002 series or a live action film.

I'm not surprised to be alone in this. For whatever reason Cringer isn't a popular character it seems.Oddly enough, people that don't want a speaking Cringer tend to think Orko is essential.Which in my mind is like asking for Jar Jar instead of 3PO.
