I still wish they had split up Jean from Phoenix in UMvC3. Jean would have made for a great hidden character but I guess there is always DLC. I would have made her 90s costume her default with the original Marvel Girl look her DLC. Id have given Phoenix the Black Queen as DLC.
The way Id imagine her would to bump her health up to at least 600,000. All her fire based energy would be transformed into pink energy signature. She'd have an entirely differnet moveset with no more teleporting and of course no Dark Phoenix transformation. What does everyone think of this? Special Moves: Telekinetic Blast - DF+A - Her primary projectile TK Pillar- FDF + A - Jean raises her hand from down to up int he air and a pillar of TK energy is raised. This is analogus to her version of a dragon punch TK Thrust (forward) - FDF + S - Jean uses her TK to thrust her opponent back TK Thrust (back) - BDB + S - Jean uses her TK to bring her opponent closer (good for a combo starter) Telepathic Counter - BDB + A - Using her TP, Jean is able to anticipate her opponent's attack and counter it TK Hold - hold S for 3 seconds and release - Similar to Spidey's web ball, Jean is able to hold her opponent in place momentarily if they are caught TK Counter - D, DB, B + A - Jean releases a TK shield in front of her. L version absorbs projectiles and transforms it into hyper combo meter. M and H versions thrust it back at her opponent at different speeds TP Blast - hold B, then F + A - Jean hits her opponent with a psionic blast which is capable of stopping them mid-motion, leaving them vulnerable momentarily Flight - D, DB, B + S - Standard flight Hyper Combos: Hyper TK Blast - DF + AA - Standard beam style hyper TP Confusion - D, DB, B + AA - Using her TP, Jean is able to confuse her opponent for 7 seconds, inversing all their controls during the duration of this Army of One - BDB + AA - Jean uses her TP to interfere with her opponents ability to communicate with their teammates. For 7 seconds, they can not tag out or call for an assist Astral Psionic Assault (Lvl 3 hyper) - FDF + AA - Jean takes her opponent to the astral realm, wears her psionic armor and unleashes an inferno of attacks on them |

I think it's better she's just Phoenix in the game.I know we have Ryu and Akuma but at least those are different characters.I rather just have Psylocke get in.

Was having fun with Nova's shield assist today. So many dirty mixups you can do in the corner with it, especially with Wesker, it it's great to have out there to disrupt rushdown opponents, and it's great putting it out right in front of your opponent (just be sure to protect Nova with a projectile or something to hold the opponent in place), watching them immediately start blocking, only to have Wesker dash through the shield and command grab them into a combo.
I had initially thought it was kind of a crappy assist since it didn't shoot out very far, and it used red life, and it led to a lot of happy birthdays since I kept accidentally using it under pressure (bad Haggar habits), but now that I've kind of got a feel for it, I really like it. Doesn't get me in in as easily as Hawkeye's assist, but it can sure help your reset game in stylish ways. In some cases it even seems worth it to use up some of Nova's red life to make the assist huge, as long as he hasn't been hit too much at that point. |

So ARE there musings of additional DLC now? I asked awhile ago and someone said 'no,' but you guys are talking as in a possible future and not like a "I wish there was more than one season of Freaks and Geeks" which obviously is never going to happen :/

I just know people are speculating about a possible Arcade Edition sometime down the line, which doesn't seem implausible.

Although, there are rumors that really poor sales are going to cause them to drop doing any further DLC stuff, which I'd imagine would mean they wouldn't release another disc update if this one did so poorly. Of course, there haven't been any official numbers from what I can tell, just rumors and speculation.

Sad if true, but they kinda shot themselves in the own foot. Releasing a new version of the game within the same year, following the same game plan as with SFIV. I'm sure most people, like me, assumed a 3rd version would be inevitable and probably just decided to skip this.

Now I'm curious. How much of a increase/decrease difference was there with SF4 and SSF4?

I wonder what the international sales numbers were? Though even if those are bad as well, I doubt this will affect anything but the future of any more Marvel vs Capcom games. Capcom has been doing the whole upgrade gimmick too long to let one speed bump stop them now.

I keep hearing that less than 30k number being thrown around, but I thought that number came from a site that had incorrect information. The game managed to break the top ten in Japan, where it's really not that popular at all, so I'm guessing the sales aren't as bad as some of the numbers we're hearing thrown around. Just based off of playing online though, the sales must not have been that good either, because there aren't many new players on at all, most people already know what they're doing, so it seems only the medium-hardcore players grabbed it. Of course, how many people spent their money on Skyrim MW3, and decided they'll just toss UMVC3 on thier xmas wishlist for later. Who knows. But yeah, Capcom could stand to learn a few lessons here the hard way.

So are there any new cinematics (other than the new intro) and endings (of the returning roster) in this?

Nope. I wish they had kept the videos from the first game in this bc those were cool to look at. New characters aside, this game is still very bare bones is terms of extra content

Capcom deserves the sale numbers for this. This is the type of behaviour that shouldn't be rewarded.
On the positive side a lot of people have been playing MVC2 on XBL. It was ranked in the top 3 in UU in the last Major Nelson report. Seems like people rather do that then waste their times on what will now be a divided and limited crowd for MVC3/UMVC3. A shame.

CBMs I enjoy the most at this moment: 1) The Avengers, 2) The Dark Knight, 3) Iron Man 3, 4) Iron Man, 5) The Amazing Spider-Man. CBMs in the near future I'm most looking forward to at this moment: 2) Thor 2, 3) Man of Steel, 4) The Amazing Spider-Man 2, 5) Guardians of the Galaxy (would be higher in the list if it wasn't for how much I hate the film Super from the same director). |

Sucks it's not selling. I prefer it to Vanilla, but as people said Capcom shot itself in the foot. They toyed with fans with Mega Man, they released a second version only 6 months after the original, and now they pay the consequences.

I'm glad.I didn't buy it and I'm still playing Vanilla. They should have just done DLC.Would have made a lot more money.Plus a lot of other games were released with hype around the same time of it's release and many people probably opted for a new experience rather than a retread. If they were going to do this they should have at least waited a year and bought the number of characters up to 56 like the development team wanted to.
