Why were programmers and designers credited with nicknames..
..in older Nintendo games rather than just by their real names? For example, Shigeru Miyamoto was credited as Miyahon in Doki Doki Panic and Zelda II.

Yeah but nicknames between friends is one thing, this is their profession. You'd think they'd want their real names attached to their work.
