I just haven't liked any spider-man game since spider-man 2 and USM. Shattered Dimensions was aight, i wouldn't call it a great game.

Well, the new one is free roam and is said to be drawing from SM2's game, so it should be good.

I haven't been the biggest fan of this reboot, or the direction of it, so I've stayed away from here. But admittedly....that poster is nice

Hopefully you'll warm up to it. We're all hoping that it's the best movie it can be.

Woah! Nice poster! It rocks as a teaser poster especially. It tells people, clearly, what it is and while still remaining mysterious. The tagline's okay, but it's kinda vague.

The general audience doesn't even know Spider-man is supposed to wisecrack all the time. They don't know he was in love with Gwen Stacy before MJ. They don't know anything about his parents. They've never seen the Lizard. They don't know he built his own webshooters.

So yeah, untold.

You have seen the original film right? You really expecting much crossover in terms of demographics?

I haven't and I'm not really expecting it, but it's the only other film next to Tintin so why not list it?

They could always do both. For instance, what if there aren't a lot of the target demo going to see tintin? Like I'm in the target demo and I'm still on the fence about Tintin and just because the trailer is attached won't make me go see it, but I DO want to see the girl with the dragon tattoo and in my opinion, that'll be the bigger movie. Although it won't be the most family friendly flick, a more mature audience will see spider-man and they are definitely marketing this as a more mature film

The new poster reminds me of a few comic book covers, which is great.

Yes they could do both, but if i had to choose I would go for Tintin everytime. How well a film is expected to do doesn't factor into it. If they put the film with dragon tattoo they are effectively cutting a major major portion of their audience, with tintin you have kids, their parents, and some teens and young adults who would go for it because a) they are fans of the comic (unlikely in the US) b) it's a good film. Much more exposure, and it reaches the more appropriate demographic for Spider-man (kids and teens)

Or maybe it'll be attached to The Tintin with the Dragon Tattoo?

Yeah I feel you. That's why I'd put it with both though because I'm not sure how many adults or young adults or even teenagers you're going to hit with Tintin, but you definitely won't hit the families if you don't go with Tintin so I think they both are safe bets, at least that's how I'd do it. Teenagers will sneak into the girl with the dragon tattoo, they always do with rated R flicks. The problem is, they don't have an all encompassing flick like Sherlock Holmes to attach it to

I don't know why that made me picture 500 Days of Summer in the tone of Seven. But it did.

And question to all, I know I should know this by now, being a semi-regular poster here and all, but when does this new game trailer coming out...?

Yes, it's bland. Even as a teaser it's bland. But the idea is so good. A little color would be nice for one.

I don't see why Sony is pushing this whole gloomy Spidey angle.

The poster is crap, and it reminded me of BB (Not saying BB is crap, I love that movie).

Care to expound on why you think it's crap?
It's simple in it's execution but I think that's what I like about it. It's effective, gets the job done, says exactly what it needs to say in a concise, dramatic manner.

Far from being a crappy teaser poster.
There's a tendency of confusing 'I don't like it' with 'it's bad'. I may dislike something I acknowledge is good.

I don't think it's all that bad, it isn't particularly memorable though is it? Especially for a second poster. I think it's because im not used to a spider-man poster without colour or energy. I get this is a whole different outlook on the character and i appreciate that, but one of the more charismatic and colourfull superheroes definately needs something a bit more eye catching. Hell, Chris Nolan who usually has his films in a droll naturalistic tone and colours tend to find a way to use that and still create awesome visual eye catchers. There is no excuse for spider-man to not do that.

So yeah...hate to use the B word...but it is pretty boring.

EDIT: I do enjoy the concept...the spider shadow effect is pretty cool.
