As you may or may not know, this award is one of the most important of all of the awards because it recognizes members who are true pillars of this website. More often than not, the awards turn into a popularity contest which means that some of the most deserving members of our board are overlooked in favor of who is currently the most popular. To offset that factor, it has been decided that the Hype-Time Achievement Award will once again have two recipients. The first recipient will be decided as it always has been - by popular vote. The second recipient will only be decided by a select group of seven posters called "The Committee".

The Committee members have already been chosen and consist of currently active founding members of the Hype as well as previous winners of this award. With the start of a new decade, it is very important to remember those that have had a profound impact on this website alongside those who are currently popular. I have complete faith in the members of this committee to provide us with another great recipient of this award!

Personally, I think it should just be one winner picked by the committee. The fact that Dew and C.Lee haven't won already is a travesty in and of itself.

, BUT I do understand where they are coming from. Most of the newer posters here aren't familiar with Dew. And it all takes is for an older poster to be somewhat popular in the Fall for them to win.

Personally, I like the idea of Hype-Time Achievement being only appointment by committee... though there's a potential for a deserving Committee member to either get left out because of their station or get ragged on for getting the award.

I just think that two award winners in a year takes away from each other. If it's a tie then that's understandable and respectable, but in the committee/voting process I just feel like it takes away from it.

That's just me though.

...last year was legitimately a tie. As far as this award ONLY being decided on by a committee, I'm torn.
