This might be the first presidential race where I don't listen to a single person in the running. It'll be like a cracker jack prize when whoever wins actually wins.

When will the caucus be certified, and the official winner announced?

...so the new Iowa results say that Rick Santorum actually won Iowa by 34 points.

It's interesting that Romney originally claimed a "squeeker victory" when he "won" by 8 votes and now he's claiming a tie despite Santorum winning by 34 votes. Hmm...

I think he can claim a tie because despite the fact that the official results is Santorum winning by 34, they pretty much admitted that we will never know who actually won the damn thing on account of results from 8 precincts missing and over 100 errors accounted for. For all we know, those errors and results could give Santorum an even bigger lead or could have given Romney the lead once more.

I just think it's smarmy to claim a "squeeker victory" when you won by 8 votes to now turn around a say it's a tie when you're behind by 34 votes.

Then again...Romney is smarmy. Typical politics.

Santorum claimed victory in Iowa as well even when he lost by 8 votes. And he's claiming actual victory despite the fact that the Iowa GOP came out saying that we will never know who actually won.

I'm really not going to hold this one against either of them because this is what almost all politicians do. They'll claim the smallest of victories as a mandate and spin the losses as something else. I think that Political said it best the real embarrassment lies within Iowa and the caucus process for the botched vote count that gave Romney victory.

I thought Santorum claimed a tie? I don't remember him ever claiming victory.
