So Palmer threw his first pick of the game.

And my theory about the entire league conspiring to get Tebow into the playoffs gains more ground.

Jim Schwartz should go in the locker room, get down on his knees and kiss Cliff Avrill's feet because that man just saved his job. I truly believe that if the Lions lost that game, Schwartz would have lost the team (though he may already have), the Lions would've lost out and he would have lost his job. I almost still think that they'll lose out, but at least they'll be 8-8 now. I am leaning towards them losing out because the discipline on that team is absolutely atrocious. 10 penalties, 75 yards. Not to mention that while Avrill came up big, their defense as a whole collapsed. If anyone but a second year, sixth round pick were in that position, the Lions would have lost.

Currently there are 9 teams in the league with either 5 or 6 losses. The Lions are easily the worst of those teams. The funny thing is, the Lions may have the most talent of any of those teams but they give away yards, they give away points and they give away games. That all falls on Jim Schwartz.

Panthers were up 23-7 at the half, but Atlanta roars back. 31-23

Matt rooting for a Lions loss so Jim could face justice.

I was actually pulling for them today because I picked them. But it is pathetic how little discipline that young team is. And frankly, far better talent has been wasted due to lack of discipline. Under Jim Schwartz, the Lions and all of their young talent are quickly on their way to becoming cautionary tales (just like the Bungles).

I think Schwartz is safe, even if the Lions do miss the playoffs. He's far from perfect, but the guy took an absolute sh** team into a solid winner. They're still REALLY rough around the edges, but to go from 0-16 to a playoff contender in three seasons is pretty good.

Probably. But if he lost the final 6 games of the season, I really think Detroit would be thinking twice about keeping him. I think that winning this game was big for his job security. But I do not consider him to be one of the elite young coaches. He can't control his team. It is that simple and that is why I am predicting that Detroit not only misses the playoffs but also has a bad downward spiral next year.

Yeah, saw that missed FG....Kasay > Mare.

Panthers got no D as well...

I think Moore is 50/50 starting next week, but start Losman. Bills vs Losman. That--no DAT UFL Champ Losman.

Maybe, yeah. I think next season will be very telling. I think that if the Lions see a drop-off next year, he could indeed be on the hot seat.

I'd love to see the Bears/Broncos game end in a 0-0 tie.

When you talk about things, it always seems like you consider your own predictions to be a near absolute fact.

Which is kind of annoying. Unless you're really Miss Cleo. In that case, it's adorable.

I seriously don't know how the Niners are 10-2. I really can't wait to watch the Steelers pummel them into the ground on Monday Night.

What, 1 INT & a bunch of sacks for Mr. Rodgers & they're still murdering the Raiders, it's damn scary.
