...you think so?

I thought MGS3HD looked amazing.

I do think, though, that MGS3DS looks better than MGS Peace Walker HD.

I couldn't possibly disagree more with that. I just downloaded the demo and felt it looked pretty poor compared to the HD collection. I remember hearing people say that so i was pretty excited to see it on the 3DS only to be disappointed. I mean it looks good, but i deff think the HD Collection looks better. Much better. maybe its due to the screen size, but the 3DS version seemed to be far more blurry.

Isn't that picture you posted, Benstamania, supposed to be MGS3DS compared to the Playstation 2 version?

Upping MGS3 to 720p on my widescreen TV just seems much more impressive to me, than getting it to run on a handheld.

I got to try the demo for MGS3DS and while it looked great and the audio was awesome I just couldn't enjoy it as much as I did when I played it on PS2, I guess I just hate trying to narrow my vision on such a smaller screen. Perhaps that's another reason why I could never get into any MGS games on the PSP.

Yea im kinda with you, i didn't really care for it. I just dont want to play MGS like that. Its why iv never cared for handhelds. Much rather do my gaming on a console.

I just feel that MGS demands a grand scale for me and trying to narrow so much on to something so small makes me feel cramped while I play it. I bought a PSP specifically for Peace Walker and couldn't get past the opening as I just felt to restricted. Shame really but I at least have something else cool to add to my MGS collection which was that Peace Walker exclusive PSP. I look forward to finally getting to play it on the HD remake which I got when it came out, I just don't have the time to sit down and let myself get consumed by it like I did for past MGS games.

Yea i know exactly what ya mean, altho i feel that way about all games. Iv just never seen the need for handhelds. They dont offer any games i feel i have to play and i have no reason to do any kind of gaming "on the go". I play enough damn games at home, dont need to be playing more in public.

I remember that the PS2 Snake Eater had a kind of blur filter over the image. The 3DS one doesn't look to be as heavy. Still got to get through Peace Walker before I play Snake Eater HD.

Handheld gaming is more than just on the go gaming anymore. I play my 3DS at home more than I do out and about.

Yeah, however I still think the HD ports have a bit of the blurred effect that the PS2 versions had.

Oh yea i understand that, but again, when i was playing the demo for MGS:SE 3D, i couldn't help but think "why am i playing this game on this tiny screen?" Its hard for me to get immersed with a handheld.

I have like 3 different versions of MGS3.. SO I have zero interest in the 3D version bit what bugged me the most? Playing it without a Circle Pad Pro. Eeeesh.

Yea i thought it felt odd using the Y,X,A,B buttons to aim. Altho what i did like was that you could crouch walk. That wasn't in the original game or the HD version was it? I mean i just played the HD version not too long ago and didn't remember being able to do that.

I think Peace Walker was the only game to feature that

Yeah, I've thrown my money at Konami plenty. I too own three versions of Snake Eater, and Sons of Liberty.

Handhelds seem to start and end with two different mindsets, one of which seems to have gotten stronger with IOS gaming becoming more prevalent.

And basically, the two camps of approach is do you want to mimic the console gaming experience, even though you will undoubtedly fall short of striking the same notes? Or do you go for something that's quicker, chewable, and smaller scale that doesn't try and be cinematic?

Either one doesn't particularly appeal to me, personally. I'd rather blast my games on my 1080p TV and enjoy them there. It's really hard for me to get into gaming on the go, I've realized.

This is largely why I abandoned handheld gaming. I played it so much at home, it started bugging me that I couldn't enjoy it on a large screen. Seemed like a waste, especially with engrossing titles that were made for a cinematic experience.

All of my mobile gaming is done on cellphones, with quick throwaway titles that can be bought for cheap. I'd much rather play something like Tiny Wings on the train rather than MGS.

KojiPro posted some job listings for the "next" Metal Gear Solid game, and along with it some new concept art.

Also, it's being developed for "high end" game consoles (next gen, I'm assuming?) and PC.
