Loosely. What the Skinner did can hardly be compared. The Skinner was a run of the mill serial killer. Danko was a complete monster. I think it would be interesting to have Danko be a well known and respected Doctor in the Miami area who is very well connected politically and very careful about what he does. Miami Metro will know that he is guilty, but there will be no evidence to arrest him with. He can even subtly brag about it. That will make the need for Dexter all the more apparent to Deb and help her come to terms with Harry's code and what Dexter is.

I think the difference is that if you're going to talk about it on messageboards, you'll analyze it to death, and Dexter's NEVER been a show that holds up to scrutiny. Not even teh first few seasons. But if you take it as it comes, it's still a great experience overall, despite the sloppiness.

In the book Danco kills U.S. army folks (including Doakes) who he thought betrayed him.
I think that season six showed off how LaGuerta is becoming to big for her boots and Danco should be someone he feels has been betrayed by the system when LaGuerta was in charge, so he goes after LaGuerta and her team at the time, before Dex and Deb. LaGuerta has lasted 6 seasons compared to the 1 book she's been in and i think that this would be a good time to have her gone, or kept on as a 'stump' in a desk job role after Danco has his way. On a side note i think it'd be interesting if they started to build Louis into the antagonist from the latest Dexter novel 'Double Dexter', who finds out about Dexter and tries to kill people in the same way Dexter does, including Dexter himself. Obviously their should be some alterations as it wouldn't want to be a repeat of Miguel. Last edited by RaZaTrOn; 12-23-2011 at 11:01 PM. |

Why do you keep on wishing Louis to become a serial Killer? What's wrong with you? Why can't he be just... one of the team? Seriously???

Because he had the ITK's hand and drew on some funky yet to be discovered pattern, which isn't something Masuka, Debs, LaGuerta, Batista or Quinn have ever done.

Maybe I am giving the writers too much credit, but Louis being a serial killer is too obvious. I think that he is connected to Lundy (like a protege or something) and working on some off the books FBI sting to catch the real Bay Harbor Butcher and repair his mentor's legacy.

Because he bought the ITK hand, drew on it, and mailed it to Dexter. Not only that, but he's proven to be much more intelligent than Deb, Quinn, LaGuerta, Batista, Mike Anderson, and perhaps even Masuka.

That may be true however the way the writers handle Harrison really bugs me. It seems like they just throw in the obligatory 30 seconds of Dexter putting Harrison to bed in every episode. It feels like such an afterthought and the writing is getting sloppy.

I'm not saying it's set in stone or anything. We don't know what his deal is, at this point. All we know is that something about him is off. Why would he mail Dexter the ITK hand?

If they did do Danco, I'd hope that they don't change his methods. They are sick.

You know, I just thought about this, but I believe one aspect of the two witnesses is that they're actually killed by Satan before the coming of Christ and are resurrected afterward (I believe that's correct anyway, not totally up to snuff on my bible lore). Would've been interesting to see Dexter try and use that against Travis. Like he couldn't kill him, because to truly fulfill the events of the bible, the beast had to have that initial victory. Just a thought really.

The last scene of the season finale made up for the lackluster season 6. I'm ready for season 7. Bring it on!

Can someone tell me if Dexter did drug himself with the needle or not?

I figured it was a fake, maybe filled with water or something. Not sure how he knew Travis would make him inject himself though. Maybe it was just plot convenience.

If you play the sound loud enough, just before Dexter injects himself, he holds his breathe or does something with his throat.......... kinda convenient that they didn't show how he didn't get drugged

Could also be that he switched the substance in the needle for something less harmless, though it doesn't really make any sense if he knew that he'll have to inject himself beforehand.

It would have been better if he came without the needle in the first place and knock Travis out the old fashion way.

I figured that, since Travis used the needle on him before, Dexter thought ahead and prepped himself a second needle filled with water. Just in case Travis got the jump on Dexter (especially since Dex new he had Harrison as a hostage).
