Which one are you looking forward to the most, this or Les Mis?

Well, I've seen ROA on Broadway 100+ times, and Les Miz only once. Love both, but I generally favor musical comedies.

![]() Now that's fanatical right there! Since I've never seen ROA on the stage, do you think the movie captures the spirits and essences of the musical accurately?

There's a lot that seems to be different, but different in an ROA sence, if that makes sence. . .
I did read an early draft of the script and the same humor is definitely there. Plus with Justin Theroux being one of the writers, I'm confident it will be hilarious. What I loves about HAIRSPRAY was that outside if the music number, it really was a smartly funny movie. The jokes all landed where they needed to. I hope the same for this. |

![]() I've only seen ROA once, but it was awesome. I still need to get my sister to see it before the movie opens.

It's hit and miss with the current cast right now, to be honest. But, I still love it. And I hope I love this film!

New poster. A little too photoshopped for my taste...

They may as well go all out and give it a light R.

Well, they do want to make a profit. Sweeny Todd barely survived its R rating.

It's funny... this film probably wouldn't interest me all that much (not really familiar with the show, though I do like plenty of the songs) but I'm really intrigued to see Cruise as a hair metal rock god. Cruise is one of those classic movie stars that stays in his comfort zone most of the time because he knows that's what the majority of his fans want to see, but he can be phenomenal when he steps out of it (Magnolia, Tropic Thunder, Collateral).

Really, that sucks I get the legal issues the musical had. But not to have it in the film is a bit silly when we are getting other def songs.

Maybe they'll play it over the end credits "curtain call"? I think that'd be pretty neat. I do think Paradise City is the all around better song, though.
Cruise on the cover of W Magazine's June issue.

Sweet cover and if rock of ages was in end credits I be fine with that. I think it should be in there.

LOL, Cruise is awesome.
But yeah, it's a shame if the song Rock of Ages doesn't make it in. That's something that always bugged me about two of my favorite movies, Dazed and Confused and American Pie. If you're going to name a movie after a classic song, then find some damn way to work it into the film.

The "sneak preview" on Idol was a bit disappointing. Just an extended version of the last trailer with only a few new shots inter cut, but nothing really new. A little bit more of Catherine Zeta Jones singing "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", which just shows that she really is a triple threat deserving of her Oscar for Chicago.
I'll say that Tom's brief singing of "Wanted Dead or Alive" sounded MUCH better than it did in the last trailer. Sounded less processed, and a bit more of just a clear vocal. He sounds great. EDIT: Here's the footage! Yeah, definitely a superior sound mix from the first trailers. The songs don't sound as overproduced. Tom sounds great. VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Preorder is available on iTunes. You get a download of Tom Cruise singing "Pour Some Sugar on Me" when you preorder. http://itunes.apple.com/us/preorder/...on/id526223753
And here's "Any Way You Want It" sung by Mary J Blige. VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

So listening to the soundtrack, it sounds pretty great. Worst song is the made for movie one though, Undercover Love.
Was surprised how good Cruise and Hough were though.

I'm kind of obsessed with the cheesy era appropriateness of Undercover Love.
![]() But my favorites are probably: -I Want To Know What Love Is - Cruise sounds AMAZING on this track. Akerman is good too. -Hit Me With You Best Shot - Slayed by CZJ flawless vocals. -More Than Words/Heaven - One of my favorites from the show. This is actually better. -Pour Some Sugar on Me - More Cruise being awesome. -Don't Stop Believing - Down a half step, but I love the strings and the drums.
