I also did a recolour of Captain America's costume to make it a little closer to The First Avengers look. I did also think about changing the helmet but in the end decided I liked it as it is.

Hey everyone, im new to the forum and as a graphic designer im loving all of this fan art!! Im working on an avengers poster myself at the moment but can anyone tell me why in the upcoming movie sometimes the bird in the s.h.i.e.l.d logo points to the left and other times to the right?

Its central to my idea but i dont wana make a rookie mistake!

Think it's because when on a Wall it faces to the Right, when on an ARM like that it faces toward the wearer's FRONT

I think without the shield, Cap looks more like he's doing a Nazi salute. Of course, the shield would obscure things too much, so maybe it's better with a different pose?

Thanks Vartha, it seems as if the version used in the comics looks left but the movie uses it mostly looking right. From the various pics Ive seen on the net you do seem to have a point, it always points towards the wearers front when on an arm.

There doesn't really seem to be a definitive answer i guess!

Love the composition of that poster Raven, although it is unfortunate about Cap's pose, now youve mentioned a Nazi salute thats all I can see!

Thanks for your kind words guys, I always try and do something original just to be different really. Its part of a set Im working on, Ive already produced posters for Thor, Captain America and XMen First Class, you can see them here if you are interested.

I usually get 10 printed just for fun and sell them on my blog, the Avengers one will be on sale tomorrow.

I did struggle getting Ironman to fit into that shape, the other 3 worked really well but that was the only problem I had, hopefully it works ok!

I dont think there's any 'wrong' with how Ironman looks but you might try making the bottom corners red, too. Along the curvy 'cheekbone' lines of the mask. I think that would add to it. But just my opinion.

@Davewi11 Really awesome dude! I've always tried to incorporate the team into SHIELD's emblem. The eagle-like thing usually gets in the way, but I see you've gotten rid of it completely. And It works too
