And it doesn't really fit the story that well. Link losing implies that Ganon continues to rule the kingdom, which isn't the case at the start of A Link to the Past (although further games can explain this gap). I mean, its not the biggest deal ever, but I don't know, just seems like a lazy way to cast off the earlier games into a separate canon.

Well, the alternative would be them not fitting into a timeline. Which is fine by me.

Yeah you could put the controller down and never play the game again. But you always pick it up and play till you win and Gannon is defeated. Then that closes the story.
If that were the case you'd have alternate timelines after every mission in every game.

I messed up on the 2nd part of the last Ghirahim fight and gave up. Didn't try it today, may just save it for tomorrow.

It seems hard to hit him in his final phase, but it's not. Spin attack him, wait until he switches the blade's side, then spin attack the undamaged side and stab the jewel. If you want hearts to spare before his final phase, you can either let one of the Bokoblins with a Monster Horn continue to summon more Bokoblins, or you can use a string of stabs to easily knock Ghirahim off the platforms; even his punches and kicks lose out to stabs.

Well, kind of. The only reason people consider two timelines okay is because of the time travel elements on OOT, which cause a time split. Link dying isn't really because of any time travel scenario. It's closer to a What If story.

TP isn't a bad game. I've beat it twice, once on GC and Wii each. Own both versions in fact. Only big difference is the controls and being able to set items. Wii versions you can set up to 4 with the B button and D-Pad, but can only use it with B. Wii versions the Z button is taken up by Midna so you only have X and Y but don't have to first set them to B.

It's a great game. My only beef with it, is that you hardly get any help with what to do in any situation. Midna is completely useless.
Fi in Skyward Sword was extremely helpful. Thank God the developers seeing sense!

I rarely found Fi helpful. She gives the game too much of a feeling of hand-holding for the people who never play games.

Fi was annoying. I hated her incessant instructions.

Just bought a super cheap pre-owned Wii and copy of Zelda for only 120 bucks (Australian dollars). Very happy with that, gonna try it out after work tonight.

Count me in as a LOZ fan, i've been a fan for 24 years since i was 7 when i got my NES for my birthday with SMB/Duckhunt and LOZ as i even had a subscription to Nintendo Power since and helped me get through the games. I even got Zelda 2 with SMB 2 for christmas that year.
I became a LOZ fan since and collected all the games on all systems since. Navi? hmmm, sounds almost like the aliens on Avatar |

YOU KNOW WHAT WAS REALLY MISSING FROM SKYWARD SWORD?
Being able to run and swipe your sword at the same time. Why did they get rid of that? It was great in Twilight Princess. |

That was something I did miss from Twilight Princess.
I'm thinking back to Wind Waker, and I have to say, I think that's the best depiction of Ganondorf. I'm not talking about his appearance specifically but just how he's portrayed. He came off as more sinister and calculating than OoT or TP. |
