Yeah. I'd be perfectly alright with those characters besides Lex, Jimmy, and maybe Jax-Ur not being in any adaptation ever.

Ben Hubbard was created by Donner so... thanks but no, thanks. J.J. Abrams' Ty-Zor can't even be considered a character, since it never saw the light of day. Other than those two, I'd like to see other DCU people mentioned like Maggie Sawyer, Dan Turpin and the Daily Planet staff.

I wouldn't mind Metropolis's Police Force being given some exposure/life in this new series; heck, Dan Turpin would be a great addition (provided that there's room for his character) in MOS imho.

Metropolis -
Steve Lombard, Jimmy Olsen, Kat Grant, Lex Luthor, Maggie Sawyer, General Lane, Prof Hamilton

Krypton -
Jax Ur, Ty Zor.

Characters no one cares about?
When I was talking about the need to get some more characters from Superman mythos in MoS, many dismissed the idea, I always thought that in order to set up the world of Superman many supporting characters are needed, SR just had many characters that were in Donner movies but since then we have had - Lois and Clark, STAS, Smallville, JLU series so we need more characters in MOS.

I welcome the decision to include Prof. Hamilton, and hope that some more characters are included.

Considering that BB was able to bring in all of these characters in a naturalistic way:

1. Bruce Wayne/Batman
2. Alfred
3. Jim Gordon
4. Ra's Al Ghul
5. Henri Duchard
6. Scarecrow
7. Falcone
8. Flass
9. Thomas Wayne
10. Martha Wayne
11. Lucius Fox
12. Zsaz
13. Commissioner Loeb

I'm somewhat confident that Goyer and to lesser extent, Nolan, have managed to find a way to bring in a good amount of Superman's own characters into this film.

And yet they seem to have left out Jimmy Olsen, Lana Lang and Lex Luthor...

(Not that I want Lana in this film )

If Lex isn't there now, odds are he'll show up later. The only thing actually missing is Jimmy.

Cavill said it a few days ago. But I don't think it's right. There has to be way more filming than what we've seen if more people are joining.

Your reason is "because it's Donner"? Superman Returns has absolutely ruined the reputation of STM.

An argument over whether Ben Hubbard should be in the film. LOL. He shouldn't

Don't worry. I'm not arguing. Ben Hubbard will not (nor should ever) be in MOS. The original supporting cast is vast enough for that to ever happen under film-makers who know Superman's history other than the gospel according to Donner.

And he wasn't really in STM or SR either. Poor Ben.

Hmm, first time I've seen this picture. I wonder if it's legit. Though I have a difficult time imagining what else this could, if not a movie set.

Maybe a homage to the last scene in SII where Clark had gotten his revenge on the nasty truck driver, only in this case, he took it to the next level.haha j/k

I don't think that this is a result out of a tornado, though I'm going with potential super battle.

I think that might be due to the tornado judging by the dark cloudy background.

Looks really cool.

I think it's dark just because it's night, not a tornado. I guess either one would be equally cool, maybe a scene with young Clark in Smallville getting control of his powers, trying to help during a tornado... or Zod flinging semi trucks around, causing mayhem.

I'm really starting to wonder on how LONG this film is going to be. There's no way in my mind at the moment that they could make this into a film that's less than 2 Hours and 10 minutes without hurting the story imho.

I mean the film has so much to cover:

1. Introduction of Krypton and its eventual Destruction

2. Clark's youth and time spent in Smallville

3. Clark wondering around the world apparently

4. Clark moving to Metropolis

5. Superman appearing for the first time and establishing himself as a hero

6. Zod returns

7. Battle between Superman and Zod/Co.

8. Resolution

Yeah, I want a really nice, juicy runtime. As long as TDK would do me just fine, 2 and a half hours.

I thought about this as well and I really hope the movie is at least 135 minutes long (not counting the credits) - though I'd love it to be 2 and a half hours - for the very reasons you mentioned. There is just too much ground to cover Krypton with Jor-El and Zod scenes, and since Crowe signed up I think he will have at least 10-15 minutes of screen time, young Clark/Smallville, introduction of Zod and Faora etc etc. I just cant see how this can be done in any less time, not substantially anyway.
