Oh you mean how Romney advocated the individual mandate but at a state level if the state chooses to while Gingrich advocated it at a national level? Or how Romney is full on conservative with immigration while Newt advocates a certain level of amnesty? Or how Gingrich was with Gore and Pelosi to confront global warming while Romney has never done such a thing? Sure Newt is conservative on social issues, but so is Romney, he just doesn't put them at the forefront.

Both Gingrich and Romney are fair weather conservatives who flip flop whichever way the wind blows. The difference is Newt knows how to effectively communicate with a conservative/Tea Party crowd and sound like he believes the convictions he preaches. Romney is so phony and transparent that they see through his pandering and lack of core. But he is very disciplined and organized (two things Gingrich is not) on top of wealthy. He also hasn't burned his bridges with the GOP establishment in the 1990s due to bad, self-serving leadership.

Neither is what you guys are really looking for.

Well......yeah. I'm voting Ron Paul in the primaries, but I've long accepted the fact that Mitt Romney will most likely be the eventual nominee at this rate. Instead of being heavily disappointed by the most likely outcome that my guy won't be the nominee, I might as well hop on the Mormon Express. Like they say, when in Rome.

But hey, I could be wrong and Obama could pull a Tebow and get a second term and actually turn the economy around!

You do realize that Paul can't just snap his fingers and fix everything, even as president, right? Paul would get less done than Obama because Congress would not work with him. It would be a presidency of deadlock.

Well...just for the sake of argument, let's say Romney wins the Republican primaries and Paul doesn't run a third-party campaign. Would you ever consider voting for a progressive independent candidate à la Cynthia McKinney or Ralph Nader, given that their positions on the wars, foreign policy and civil liberties would be virtually the same as Ron Paul's?

People don't get it.... and the pondents sure in hell don't get. I have to admit, I can see how it can be so confusing...but these "know it all" pondents, regardless of what spectrum they hail from, repeat the same clueless talking points.

The guy is suppose to be a real, average, regular guy, American who is force to smoke outside. I don't smoke; but, Smokers who have to go outside in smoke especially in groups(like gathering around the water cooler, discussing politics, tv shows, games, health, simple gossip, jobs, who's dating who, etc) understand the symbolic nature of "the guy" supporting and working for Cain, campaigning for Cain, outside, in the smokers zone. Smokers feels alienated, because of their "choice" to smoke. This guy is suppose to be(badly done) one of those regular, everyday, American, smoker.

I don't know if it help or hurt Cain....it certainly created more buzz, on top of 9-9-9. Not sure it was needed....should have touched on other issues outside of 9-9-9....so voters can get a better feel of his other platforms.

Ron Paul is just not leading material to voters in general mainly due to his age although the media (even Fox News) not giving him enough attention definitely hurts his campaign. He would be better off in a supporting role like Vice President. As a matter of fact, if the GOP pick defeats him as his running mate and defeats Obama, Paul can be Dick Cheney this time around.

This is, like.....the most insane election ever. NOBODY is the right candidate. Obama, because he doesn't really know how to handle the economy, and the right because all of their candidates are awful, and the only moderately good one (Ron Paul) is kind of crazy.

Saw it on blogosphere, CNN did a bit of editing to make a 8 minute interview cut short with Ron Paul "storming out" shortly. That is a giant dick move by Gloria Borger.

I think the only way Ron Paul is going to gain traction is if he wins Iowa. If he loses Iowa, it's over for him. The best he will be able to do is to amass delegates and attempt to get Mitt Romney to adopt some of his platform (especially the parts concerning monetary policy).
