I love how everyone is trying to focus on Thor's action moments in the trailer and what he could possibly be doing in the movie. What I loved about the trailer even though its short snippets is the phenomenal acting we see from Hemsworth. His story will no doubt be the most personal of the movie and Hemsworth is going to destroy as Thor. I think he is going to be the best part and he's going to steal the movie.

I have no doubt that that is the situation. In prior artwork there's there big portal beam coming down on Stark Tower. Plus, that shot of him really angry is of him on the Tower ... I bet he's trying to close the portal.

Yeah me too, I'm pretty sure he's going to be the one that finally defeats Loki and he may even take out one of the Leviathan's by himself (or atleast contribute the most towards it's death).

He certainly did show some phenomenal acting in the trailer but there was never any doubt in my mind that he wouldn't deliver a great performance after watching THOR.

The only thing I worry about now is Thor being toned down so he won't stand out from the rest of the team, oh and wow that's my first team seeing someone say that Hemsworth is going to steal the show (most people say Hulk, RDJ, or Loki).

Mormonism did to Christianity what Marvel Comics did to Norse Mythology. OMG
VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Odin = God/Elohim
Thor = The Mormon Jesus
Loki = Lucifer
Asgardian = Europeans
Frost Giants = Africans
Asgard = Kolob

It wasn't that short to me, I definately prefer his longer hairstyle in the Avengers though.

From a story/narrative perspective, I do like on how we're finally seeing Thor do what his father had hoped for him at the start of his own film, especially from what he had told him as a child, about Thor having to uphold the peace of the nine realms.

Very good point, I haven't thought about it like that but you're right that's exactly what he's doing in this film.

I'm kind of hoping that whatever exploits and heroics Thor does in this film, that we'll hear on how everyone in the nine realms heard about it when we see him again in "Thor 2".

I'm also hoping to hear Thor give his trademark line for Earth: "For Midguard" as he charges against the enemy.

I also hope to see Thor directly saving some civilians from being attacked or killed by Loki's forces in this film.

I'd love to see all of those things, especially Thor directly saving some civilians and exclaming "For Midgard" while charging into battle.

I hope to see the inhabitants of the Asgardian realms address him with a level respect whether they like him or not, similar to the way characters addressed War in "Darksiders" or Kratos in God of War II & III.

There is no doubt that thor is going to be probably the most important hero in this movie...his brother is the villain, the cube was placed on earth by his father. And fury seems to be asking thor to do something pretty important in the trailers. I think in the end thor will be the winning advantage that the avengers need.

I got the impression that Fury's comment was about asking him what he was prepared to do about Loki. It's a given that Thor would help to save Earth, but how far would he go in order to defeat Loki?

I kind of wish we hadn't seen those filming shots from Central Park with Thor, Loki and the rest of The Avengers. I hope that was a Joss decoy and the real ending was shot in secret. But if it was the real ending then we know that Thor managed to help save the earth but also saves Loki in the process. Nobody else cares if Loki lives or dies. Thor would be the only one with a mission to defeat Loki but also save him and keep him alive so he could take him back to Asgard unharmed.

One question here .... Characters work in pairs or have parrots on shoulders or grovelling minions so the audience can hear them voicing their thoughts aloud to someone else. Which Avenger is going to be the one who listens to Thor's thoughts and his fears about Loki?

I'd love it to be Banner or Son of Coul or Cap.

^i would guess coulson or possibly cap would be the one who thor could confide in.
If heimdall was in this, it would be funny for thor to be talking to him. Lol, everyone would think thor was crazy, talking to himself. Lol.

How much do you all want to see Thor use lightning in this film?

I love how in A:EMH Thor used lightning like it was a natural extension of him and he didn't have to strike a pose everytime he used it.

^ I'd LOVE for there to be a scene like this in the film where Thor basically powers up with lightning surging all around his body.

I think this is the same scene where Iron Man arrives with the Leviathan, that must mean Thor is about to do something since he starts to spin his hammer.

one thing that is either a good thing or bad thing is that thor's flight is not shown in any of the trailers....
maybe they are keeping all that stuff in wraps or maybe the plot will get in the way...
i just want to see thor's full potential..hopefully all the parts where thor get beaten by ironman is shown in the trailer

I think if they have Iron Man flying around like that then they have to give Thor some awesome flying scenes too. I'm thinking and hoping there are some tracking shots of Thor flying like IM, because we never really got that in the first movie.
