Warning, spoilers:

Okay, I thought Hamilton was an important figure in the DC universe, but they kill him off like that. I was thinking Hamilton could be like a Coulson or Fury type character, connecting the different DC movies.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Hamilton's (apparent) fate did surprise, given he's a notable guy in the DC Universe. I spent some time afterward thinking it could be explained away in a future movie with some throwaway line about being knocked of the aircraft and onto a building at some point, but that's reach. Not a dealbreaker, but it shouldn't have come to that.

He is useless. Superman's brain is Professor Hamilton.

Well, they just got sucked into a wormhole, right? Before that would just teleport them somewhere else. So there's a chance the Kryptonians and Hamilton are still alive but stranded somewhere. This would mean that Faora is still alive, too

Yep "Smallville" Alessandro Juliani was the military sergeant who was watching the monitors for the object that turned out to be Kal-El's ship.

I didn't even catch Hamilton dying on my viewing. Damn. I would have preferred him to live.

Its not so much that we see him die. We just never see him get off the plane before they hit. He could have grabbed a parachute and lept off before impact, maybe with enough time to escape the pull.

This and the loss of the command key/fortress were a little disappointing to me. However, none of them were destroyed, just sucked into the Phantom Zone. Perhaps Hamilton will find a way back? I don't think the Kryptonians will be a big issue. They aren't going to have powers there and I think Hardee and Faora are going to be too busy banging to notice.

Or, what if they come out of the black hole somewhere else? The point of the Phantom drive was to travel through the PZ, not stop in it. So what if they ended up somewhere else? A dark planet, ruled by a monstrous dictator that calls himself a New God. And if, through their arrival, this Darkseid learns of Earth?

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
he survived. Remember, versions of Hamilton in the comics have gain super-powers and become villainous. I'm not sure they'd go that route with it but I could see him somehow surviving and being experimented on by Jax-Ur and Faora in the Phantom Zone.

In other news, Bryan Cranston is playing Lex Luthor, Emily Blunt is Wonder Woman, Benedict Cumberbatch is Martian Manhunter, and that guy from Teen Wolf is Batman.

I hope he doesnt. That'd ruin the emotional weight of this world and his actions. you start bringing people who we thought were dead than you ruin the final/powerfulness of death in this universe

Just bullcrap. I'm sad he's never going to get the chance to be the "Professor Hamilton" of lore. He could've been a valuable asset in the Justice League Universe. I still hold out hope that he survived in the Phantom Zone

The Justice League doesn't need someone to bring them together. They're a mature group of people who know what to do when they're needed. They don't need some dumb "death" to motivate them

They did the same thing with Amanda Waller in the Green Lantern movie. Characters that DC could use to pop in different movies, not even as a Coulson type, but just to show how everything is connected, and WB just kills them for no reason. This is why I think WB has no idea how to make a shared universe.
