Speaking of Kanye, anyone think he's hated a bit too much by white America.

Considering his biggest crimes were criticizing Bush during Katrina and interrupting Taylor Swifts video music award speech.

He gets way too much hate just for that "Bush doesn't care about black people" remark and interrupting Taylor Swift. As for all the other times he's said something stupid in public, I think Kanye does a lot of it to get attention to keep his career going, but he doesn't plan it well enough (so he ends up saying things remarkably dumb or crazy instead of just mildly controversial).

You'll notice that for as loud and boisterous he can be, he manages to keep a surprising amount of his private life private. Sure we know who he's dating at any given moment, but only if that girl is already famous in some way. We barely know anything about the non-famous girl he was dating when he became famous, even though he mentions her and her family throughout College Dropout. Plus he's been asking Kim Kardashian to leave reality TV because he doesn't want his child raised on camera.

Sp yeah, I think the flashiness is kind of an act. And really, it's working out pretty well for him. For all the hate he gets, his song sales are still pretty high.

I want to like Kanye West: he's one of the few voices in the hip hop community who takes a stand against homophobia. But everything else he does is so obnoxious, to paraphrase Chris Rock, I'm tired of defending him.

Kanye's first two albums are some serious good hip hop. I don't tend to care about him outside the music because I don't pay attention to those things, but I do wish that he would have another classic like the first two. Graduation was good, and MBDTF was decent on the surface, but he hasn't made anything quite like those first two.

He needs his ass whupped though for 808's and Heartbreak.

Kanye West has all kinds of issues. West said he contemplated suicide when his mom died and he broke up with his fiance.

West seems to have no filter between his mouth and his brain but it actually doesn't bother me. Even his ego doesn't annoy me like it does other people. People love to hate Kanye West and its pretty easy to when he says dumb things all the time but atleast he is honest.

I would rather see someone who speaks their mind even if I don't agree with them then someone who smiles and tells you what you want to hear so that you like them or buy their products.

West seems to be far more disliked in America than the rest of the world it seems.

I don't understand why anyone cares about MTV music video awards or the Grammy Awards anyway. The only I hear any musician talked about as an MTV award winner is at the MTV awards.

The grammys are a music industry backslapping contest that is musically irrelevant.

I don't get why people care so much about awards shows in general. I understand why people want some kind of elite opinion on things, but some people get a ton of rage for these awards committees not agreeing with them. It's all just opinions, and none of them matter more than another except mine because I'm gangsta.
