Looks like my alma mater might be going to the SEC. Fine with me. I lost loyalty to a conference when the Southwest Conference went belly up. Plus those god awful T-Sippers think their **** don't stink. Plus this Longhorn Network will do nothing but make the rest of the Big 12 Members second class citizens. Hell, they're already getting less money with the TV deals from last year.

You want it, Longhorns? It's yours. We'll be giggin 'em in the best conference in the land.

That'd probably be true if there were any Tech people around here. Heck, I don't even know any Techies. That's how horrid their following is.

Of all my years living in and around Georgia, I've known three Tech fans.

Two of them were from South Carolina.

We'll see. I've been a USC fan all my life, and in all that time I've never seen them going into a season as a favorite. I hope they won't choke, but they're in a position they've never been in. They always seem to do better when they're pegged as a bunch of underachieving ****-ups. Case in point, the Alabama game last year. How in the **** do you go out there and dominant the number one team in the country for four quarters straight...only to lose to Kentucky the next week?

The SEC East is still down this year, but UGA and Tennessee are much better than they were last year and those games, along with Florida, I'm not really looking forward to. But we'll see Besides UGA and Tennessee, USC's biggest opponent this year is themselves.

It looks like the SEC doesn't want little brother haha. Yall couldn't compete in the Big 12, what makes you think you can in 'the best conference in the land'? Little brother had their best season since 1998 and still got their butts handed to them by a LSU team that was ranked 4th in the SEC. If/when yall go to the SEC have fun fighting at the bottom with Vandy and Kentucky.

Big talk from a team that didn't go to a Bowl last year. How's that Muchamp upgrade going?

Oh you want to talk about the past huh? Little brother has only won 3 bowl games in the past 20 years. UT has won 3 BCS bowl games since 2005 and one being a championship. In that time little brother also had 6 years were they didn't go to a bowl game.

75-37.

It's not really the past since we haven't played a game yet. It's still this year.

That Kentucky game was a heartbreaker. But last season was so full of upsets it was really hard to pin down who would win each week. I've never rooted for USC, but they have impressed me so much the past few years, and being from the South, I've got to at least root for a few SEC teams. Plus, rooting for them is way better than rooting for LSU or Auburn. Ugh.

The SEC will be very interesting to watch this year. Well, every year its the most exciting conference, but I believe some other teams (ahem, TN, ahem GA) will start to come around and make things even more chaotic. Either way, I can't wait for it to start.

Oh, and... Go Buckeyes!!!

Players got gifts from ex-Miami booster

Yahoo! Sports confirmed about 75 out of 100 names of the players provided by the ex-booster as involved in the gift-giving scheme. And it is likely that even the coaches were in the act. If NCAA doesn't hand out much, MUCH tougher penalty than they did against USC, then we know that they were biased against USC and their only incident that involved Reggie Bush.

Maybe, but probably not. Miami is still a big draw, and the NCAA makes a good chunk of change off of them. They don't want to stop that revenue coming in, even if it's for one season.

I bet Oregon will get the first Death Penalty since SMU.

It seems like nobody is afraid of the Death Penalty anymore. Time to remind them.

I think the NCAA knows its been "soft" with other big name schools....this might be the straw that breaks the camels back

You'd think with all that money being spent, they would have least won a National Championship.

I think it is interesting that after NCAA handed down that very stiff penalty against USC, more and more schools have revealed to have committed infractions that are even more severe than USC's. If NCAA called USC's case "lack of institutional control" as the reason for not only voiding their wins, championship, but also suspension from the BCS bowls for 2 years and loss of scholarships, then they should be consistent and hand down more penalties against other schools who have done worse.
