That was a pretty great superbowl spot. They surprisingly showed a lot more new footage then I thought they would.

Also the movie has been sandwiched between Pixar's BRAVE and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
Umm . . . yeah.

Wow I loved that T.V spot. Kind of loved everything I've seen of this movie really.

I dont think they worry about Brave, but Spider-Man is most likely going to make big opening numbers because of 3D (unfortunately)

I hate to say it, but this movie looks better than both of those. Paramount, as usual, is doing a great job with the marketing. So, I think this movie will do a lot better at the box office than people are expecting.

It does make you wonder though, should Sony be trying their hardest to promote Amazing Spider-Man as best they can? A superbowl spot would certainly have been good to have, but it doesn't seem like it's getting one. Their full trailer needs to be on point.

Just realized Bruce Willis plays the "original" GI Joe - that's awesome.

I spoke with Paramount and they wouldn't confirm Faran Tahir is CC nor that Tahir was in the movie.

You have that kind of access to Paramount? Pretty cool.
Also, it's a rumor. Though I'm interested if they said "No comments" or affirmed he's not in it. |

I asked regarding the rumor of Faran Tahir as CC and they said they could not confirm the actor playing that role at this time. I asked if Faran Tahir was in it and they said they could not confirm about that actor either. So sort of like an equivalent to no comment.
But what's sort of sneaky about it is that they did NOT affirm he is not in it. So maybe he could be in it but maybe he's not playing CC? I only say that because I don't want to speculate. For all we know it was some random dude like Moriarty in the first Sherlock Holmes and maybe they are just negotiating for a different actor to voice him in post-production.

0%. I believe he has stated a few times he would not be back and he doesn't have to be at all. This superbowl spot is one of the few times where I actually liked the more hip hop type music, it just fit with what was going on.

Doubt it. He was working on Dark Knight Rises and probably other stuff.
JGL didn't want to do the first movie and hated it. And quite honestly, I hated that he was CC and what they did to CC's character. Now just FYI, I don't hate JGL as a performer. Just the whole idea of Rex and his subplot I always thought was ridiculous. Rex is the Baroness' brother AND was Duke's best friend and partner. But he also had some subtle mad scientist, sadistic streak?! WTF?! The movie did not put that **** together well. Rex goes in to get intel and he's seduced by Dr. Mindbender's experiments? Before he gets blown up? Legit LOL. Also if he was coming back, why would they keep that a secret? The thing is, JGL is a rising star right now especially after Inception, 50/50, and 500 Days of Summer. You don't downplay or keep having a star like that a secret especially when he's already in one of the biggest ****ing movies of the summe rin TDKR. There is literally no chance in hell it's JGL. Now honestly what would be perfect to me? I'd be very happy if at no point in the movie, CC is ever unmasked, there is no reference of who he is or might be, or anything related to Rex. I'd be fine never knowing what actor played him or what is CC's identity because I like it that way. I'd love it if they said that schmuck in the first movie was a wannabe and nothing more and this is the real McCoy who was the one that actually manipulated Destro, Rex, and everyone else. And I would also want him to be dispatched in a way where like we desperately want to know who he was but we never find out. It worked for the Joker and it works for Cobra Commander.

VileOne, because of you, I now feel like watching the first movie. You just made me realize that I barely remember anything about the film.

It's a sloppy entertaining movie. You can tell the editors are what made that movie presentable.

But just for example none of the characters really do anything or have any big moments. Heavy Duty really doesn't do anything. The Moroccan Hi-Tech doesn't really do anything either and his character really easily could've been cut.
Duke is a pretty weak hero. In the climax he's pretty inactive.
