How should the movie start?

As long as its not a flash forward and then a flashback ala IM I'm good. I liked it in IM but they did that in Thor as well. Don't do it again. Of course if they do go that route it won't ruin the movie for me, just personal preference.

I'm not sure how this does not start with Loki. He has to be the catalyst for why Fury is bringing the Avengers together asap. I think Tom is a great enough actor to create that menacing tone for the film. Plus the show picks up 2 years after the events of Captain America, i'm sure the Bi-Frost bridge would be rebuilt by then.

The way I saw the end of Thor, the Bi-Frost bridge isn't something that ran be rebuilt like a highway or something. That's why they made it a point in the movie to mention that Loki found other way to travel between worlds than the Bi-Frost. I think Thor's going to have to find one of those to get to Earth.

I think it will start off with The Recruitment with Fury coming to see Cap Then The Black Widow being held by Russians then her going to Recruit Banner in India and Stark then Thor.

Fury will come to Cap after he has first been alerted to a global threat .
The movie probably starts with S.H.E.L.D, before we see the recruitment of the heroes .

Or better yet, a flashback. I've heard unsubstantiated rumors that Red Skull is in this movie, but maybe it's just a flashback scene of him in the past, and it's really just Steve having a bad dream about the bad ol' days.

That could explain the "trouble sleeping?" line....or it just might show a montage of Steve as an insomniac, trying vainly to adjust to modern life.

Probably A peaceful rural setting, Loki shattering the peace, lots of People fleeing in terror. Then the SHIELD people getting wind of the situation and Fury, Coulson and Robin (ahem, Hill) getting their act on and assembling...

While the beginning credits are still going I'd like to see news paper articles that highlight some of the main characters greatest/most notorious actions and perhaps show previous encounters between characters if they chose to have them have meet before (It would be cool to see a headline like "Iron man turned to scrap metal by the Hulk"). The last headline could then be about Captain America being unfrozen.

You could then cut to Nick Fury and Captain America and have the headlines be the way Fury brings Roger up to speed on the big powered people (Thor, Iron Man and Hulk) he wants to team Rogers with. It would be interesting to see Steve's initial reactions to being told about a Norse god and a eight foot tall green "monster".

I don't want a confusing action sequence were things look bleak followed by a "48 hours earlier" type start to the movie. This gimmick has been done to death imo.

With a opening credits sequence, obviously. I say they have two choices on how to do it:
A) Make it a montage of stuff from SHIELD databases. Sort of like the start of TIH.
B) Get somebody who can do a kick-ass Jack Kirby impersonation draw some scenes to summarize what's happened so far.

Or, alternately, start with what nobody would expect: Agent Coulson eating nachos.

yeah, I'd like to see sort of a recap of everything so far done in the SHIELD Database sort of thing as the opening credits roll. Maybe then go to a sleepless cap (since this is supposed to be from his point of view supposedly) or go with Loki and or an asgard perspective, with some sort of huge 'event' that is felt through the 9 realms then cut to earth. I don't know, something along those lines, I'd be most for the SHIELD Database montage/summarize. A Red Skull nightmare would be cool.

It should start with Loki attacking S.H.I.E.L.D. attemping to get the Comsic Cube maybe even getting it. Then do the opening credit montage recaping the previous films like TIH and Watchmen. Then open to Cap punching the punching bag and Fury walking in with a mission.

What if the opening was sort of a breaking the 4th wall thing and they had actors playing young (sorta) Stan Lee and Jack Kirby creating the story of The Avengers?
