Latest BlazBlue fighting game console port announced.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction, the latest entry in the BlazBlue fighting game series, is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

The magazine has a 10-page feature on the console port, featuring information on new character Es from Xblaze and an interview with producer Toshimichi Mori.

When it comes west, an Xbox One version of BlazBlue: Central Fiction is also likely planned. At least, that much leaked back in January.

Read more about the title at Wikia.
Thanlks, Famitsu.

Update 7:45 a.m.: A few new details have surfaced. BlazBlue: Central Fiction is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan this fall.
There are various modes unique to the home console version, including:
  • Speed Star Mode – The built-in mode from the arcade version. Compete for the highest number of enemies defeated within the time limit.
  • Training Mode.
  • Score Attack Mode – Compete for the high score by clearing 10 high difficulty battles.
  • Network Battle Mode.
The Arcade Mode featuring short stories for each characters will be there in addition to a home console-original Story Mode featuring a grand-scale story.
As mentioned before the update, Es from Xblaze will be a playable character. She is a hearty fighter that wields a large sword.
Here are some tidbits from the interview with producer Toshimichi Mori:
  • We’re drawing the line regarding the story with this game. The story of protagonist Ragna will reach a single conclusion.
  • The volume is about 1.3 times the previous game. Everything is newly written. The play time should amount to dozens of hours.
  • You might get a bit of a different impression of Es compared to her in Xblaze.
  • The popular Abyss Mode is being developed with specialty staff in order to further enhance it.
  • Network Mode will have the same Ranked Matches, Player Matches, and Online Lobbies of the previous game. Please wait for further information.
Development is currently 70 percent complete.
Thanks, Hachima Kikou.

thanks.

yeah, it seems like it will come to the Japan consoles in the Fall.

so, maybe, we'll get it here in the USA by Holiday 2016 or more likely early 2017.

I was kind of hoping we'd get it here by this Summer, but alas........

First look at BlazBlue: Central Fiction for PS4, PS3

Xblaze's Es appears on the battlefield.

Famitsu has gone up with its online preview of BlazBlue: Central Fiction for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, providing the first direct-feed screenshots of the console version.

As announced earlier this week, the console version of the arcade fighting game has various modes unique to the home platform, including both familiar modes introduced in previous entries and original new modes. Showcased in the screenshots include Arcade Mode, V.S. Mode, Grim of Abyss Mode, Score Attack Mode, and Speed Star Mode.
In Story Mode, you can enjoy the game’s story via an adventure game format.

The latest game offers a newly written story spanning dozens of hours and depicts the final chapter of the “Story of the Azure” starring protagonist Ragna that has been developing since 2008.

Es, from the Xblaze series, also makes her appearance as a playable character. Voiced by Mayuka Nomura, she is described as the mysterious girl who appeared before Xblaze protagonist Toya Kagari. Contrary to her lovely appearance, she has high combat ability.

She has no interest other than her given mission and doesn’t speak of herself. Unexpectedly, she loves pudding.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan this fall.

wow!! I wasn't expecting this until next year!

but it's good news!!

however, I see no mention of an X1 version? Is this really going to be a PS exclusive?

if so, shouldn't this thread be moved to the Sony boards?

no it's not exclusive inthat way . it's just weirdness from our view point cause the console publishers are still trying to one up each other like who get it out first.

it's still coming out for XBone til they actually state it's not. they have to literally say so. other wise it'll waist the poor mods that work here's time with aback and forth.

ah.

well, you figure they would have announced that it's coming to the X1 as well when they announced the western release plans.

guess we'll just have to wait and see.

it's what happen's when you have two competing console publisher's fighting top the other and one game such as this is caught inthe middle ifit's on both consoles. if it was on other consoles be side these to that would have happened.

I mean, as a PS4 owner, I'm pleased that it is getting the lion's share of fighting games ( and JRPGs ).

but, if I were an X1 owner, I'd be ticked if this game did go PS exclusive, especially since the previous game was on the X1 and prior games were on the 360.

however, if I recall, didn't one of the prior games also skip out on the 360 and just release for the PS3? They claimed the 360 wasn't "powerful" enough or something......

PlayStation fighting game due out this holiday.

Aksys Games will release a BlazBlue: Central Fiction limited edition for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 alongside the standard edition in North America, the publisher announced.
The limited edition will ship with the following:
  • Deluxe Hardcover Art Book — Contains 100 pages of BlazBlue art celebrating the history of gaming’s flashiest 2D fighting series!
  • Mini Noel Vermillion Nendoroid Figure — Supervised by Toshimichi Mori and forged by the masters at Good Smile. Noel strikes an iconic pose, sure to mesmerize collectors and fans alike!
  • BlazBlue Song Interlude III Soundtrack — Ten tracks of in-game goodness bound to up your fighting drive!
Aksys Games also revealed that newcomer Es, from the XBlaze series, will launch as a downloadable content character for free on the PlayStation Store for the first two weeks after launch day. After the promotional window, she’ll be available for purchase. Here’s her description:
A new challenger approaches! The mysterious Es of Xblaze fame joins the fray, ready to lend her brawly talents to eager fighters. Es, Guardian of the Azure and sometimes known as the Mediator, carves out her own unique spot on the roster.
A cursory glance at Es reveals her suite of standard normals and specials which form the foundation of her attack arsenal. While Es can be played as a straightforward beat stick, she has the ability to enhance her special moves, offering inventive fighters strategic flexibility.
Her drive, “Crest Arts”, transforms the trail of her sword into a massive avalanche of doom which gives her devastating attack power during offensive strikes. More hits = more pain. Tricky players can also utilize her drive’s time lag to put opponents in sticky defensive situations and force them to make hasty decisions.

UpDate: In other news, Aksys Games
confirmed on Twitter(2) that the game will not ship with English voice overs,
and that there are no plans to dub the game post-release
.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction fans launch petition for English dub

Published 1 hour ago. 8 comments.
Quote:
Latest entry is the first without English voice-overs.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction will be the first BlazBlue game not to receive an English dub. This news was quietly announced by North American publisher Aksys Games last week alongside the reveal of the fighting game’s limited edition.

Specifically, Aksys said that ‘it boiled down to game now with no dub, or game six-to-eight months later with a dub. We made a tough decision, but stick by it.’ It further added that it has no plans to release a dubbed version of the game or dub downloadable content.

However, the company did say that an English dub is possible, but sometimes developers need to be convinced via fan efforts like petitions.
So fans, understandably disappointed with the lack of English voice-overs—especially considering this is the end of BlazBlue main character Ragna’s story—have taken to Change.org with a petition to bring a dub to the game.

Ragna voice actor Patrick Seitz voiced his disappointment in a Facebook post last week, summarizing,

BlazBlue: Central Fiction isn’t getting dubbed. I’m sad about it, irate about how impersonally I found out, and not putting any particular stock in a dub happening after-the-fact… After all this time, it hurts to be told that we’re not so central to the fiction after all.”

I received a lot of e-mails about this. Fans are really trying towards something they feel is essential to the BlazBlue series. If you’re a fan, or just want to contribute, you can help by signing the petition at Change.org.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on October 6 in Japan, this holiday in North America, and Q4 2016 in Europe.
