They look a bit... Off. (especially the right arm) The head, I'll grant you looks pretty sweet. More page to screen accurate. Nice Manip there. If anything, I would have kept the arms as they were (the size), but just make the white on his biceps and forearms cover/go all the way around his arms. That would be an almost comic perfect Manip.

I would be fine with bulkier legs, but other than that I see no problem with Cap as he is now.

Regarding Ron Lim, it is kinda disappointing to see his art these days. I'll pull out Infinity Gauntlet (non Perez issues) and Thanos Quest every now and again to remind me of his glory days.

Although not strictly 'thread specific', in keeping with the recent conversation about modern movie posters seemingly just being lazy photoshop jobs and following on from my Stuzan comment a few pages ago, I seriously started thinking how a Drew Stuzan style Avengers movie poster and got all nostalgic. I searched Google images and was instantly reminded how his posters really did have a magic about them [and Lord - how many classic's he's produced for absolutely seminal movies!!!] anywho, on my search I found a 'Strewzan-style' Thor poster:-
![]() Definately better than the official posters and DVD art, in my book. I'd love to see something like this for the Avengers.

Cheers; as I say, I just kinda stumbled across it.
Seriously though, painted movie posters are a rapidly dying medium that needs to be saved. Anyone looing for nostalgia pics by the master can find some real gems on his site:- http://www.drewstruzan.com/illustrated/portfolio/

I still found it stupid, they could've come up with a much better way for Doom to steal Surfer's powers besides making him rely on his board for his powers.

I think this time it should be a proper 2:30 min trailer, with a hint of the story. We are not that far from the release date, enough with teasers.

I think it'd be AWESOME if Drew Struzan did an official poster for The Avengers! Hell, I'd buy it. I even have the one he did for Hellboy II!

Yeah, I think it's going to include all the good stuff so far & add in the earlier part of the 'We have a Hulk' scene covering the other heroes. It will probably show background on the threat emerging, Fury reacting with some expository lines and then the formation of Avengers and some scenes of them 'assembling'. Will probably finish with awesome random quick-cut (but hopefully not too quick) action scenes of **** hitting fans. That can all be done in 2.30.

Doom riding around on the Surfer's stolen board is a classic image from the Lee/Kirby Fantastic Four run. In that instance, Doom used a small flying device (we dubbed it the "bat-wing" back in the day ) to siphon off the Surfer's power cosmic. In the movie they skipped that little detail, just like they skipped a lot of other important things. Maybe the same Fox execs who forced them to use a cloud for Galactus because "it looks like a giant Transformer robot" nixed the device because it was too bat-like.

Although I'm sure I'll watch the new trailer a zillion times, I don't want to know too much more. Just an extension of the few scenes we've seen so far would suffice. I'm not even sure I want to know who the aliens are before I see it. Getting hyped is great and all, but there is such a thing as knowing too much before seeing the actual movie.
I'm definitely out of here once the TV spots hit. Those things go way too far in revealing elements of the plot.

It's not the trailers and tv spots that ruin a film, it's those 30-50 second clips they release in the weeks leading up to a movie's release.

Actually that's what I meant above (to kingmatte)...the clips not the TV spots.

I wonder if it's a new domestic trailer being released, or if it's just another foreign dubbed trailer.

Yeah, I know it was from the comics (or at least their version of it), but the way it was done was crappy. Also, as I was somewhat pointing out before (although more related to Galactus), in a movie where a character is being introduced to have them lose their powers, makes it feel like they are trying to shoe horn in 50 years of comic history into a 2 Hour movie. Something like that would better be saved for a sequel of some sort, after the character has had their chance to fully shine. That is how I feel about it at least. Surfer
