I know I toot this horn too often, but he was pretty badass in Robinson's Starman run. He didn't show up until later, but when he did, **** was going down.

Both of those mentioned, (Planet Heist definitely and quite frankly everybody should have read Starman anyway cuz it's effin' awesome.) and he was pretty badass in Green Lantern: Circle of Fire.
Also JLA. I don't know if it was Morrisons' run or Waids. Probably Waids.

He pops up in Darwin Cooke's New Frontier, but I don't remember what he does. I think he was locked in an insane asylum for claiming to visit other worlds.

Yeah, I wouldn't read New Frontier just for that one or two scenes with him, but, it's totally worth reading anyway cuz that too is awesome.

No, the All-Star Comics from the 70's took place in the present day. The All-Star Squadron took place in the 40's and tied the actual comics stories together with historical events. It's a great series to read because you get to see classic characters, learn about Golden Age comics, and WWII history as well. Roy Thomas put a lot of heart and research into every issue, and it showed. It's his best work, imo.
Silver Age Adam Strange stories are great and classic pure sci-fi without any latter day soap opera crap, past that the character hasn't been used but every now and then and there isn't anyone in current comics qualified to write a series like that. |

That dudes been around since Final Crisis.
He's the Superman of Earth 23. On that Earth, he's just like the regular Superman except he's black, his alter ego is the president of the United States, and apparently his Lois is a one eyed refugee from another alternate universe where she, Clark Kent, and Jimmy Olsen helped create an evil totalitarian Superman (That is totally the Jewish Golem Superman from the Bronze Age Justice League in Obsidian Age) who chased them through various realities, consuming various Supermen before getting his ass kicked by Black Supes and Lex Luthor. It was pretty good.

So Flashpoint. I skipped it. Now I'm interested. I know I want to get the main mini and the Batman mini. Beyond that, what mini's are important? I try to dodge stories that end with a cliffhanger but aren't followed up on, or that promise their story continues in Flashpoint 5 but they never show (or something stupid like that).
You know what I'm talking about.

I really didn't think any of them were that essential.
But, I guess, the Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Superman ones would probably be the first you should look at.

I was figuring those three and Reverse Flash. Batman I read the first issue of and loved so I wanted to complete it.
I was also curious about Lois Lane & the Resistence and Deadman & the Flying Graysons.

Oh yeah, the Batman mini is definitely necessary purely because it's so damn good.
Yeah, the Reverse Flash one is a good choice too. I never finished it, but the Kid Flash one interested me initially too.

Is it important or does it somehow influence the Flashpoint story? I'm not actually a big Flash fan and Kid Flash isn't even on my radar.

Some crazy space chicks called the Zamarons put the crown on her and made her try to kill Hal.

Cuz the crown picked her or something. Like the ring picked Hal. Sent her to kill Hal cuz she loved him though.

It's more tied into the story that led into Flashpoint. So yeah, probably not for you.
