Was flicking around the internet and saw this image which reminded me of something.

Not the only instance obviously, but just to show the spirit of the character.

Back for a moment, only to share what I've been dreaming off; now this movie has truly stolen my heart for it's utter faithfulness.

I was reading The Cult again, and I know this particular book caused a stir in the past in terms of trolling, but I have noticed a few similarities from what we do know.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Blackfire’s so-called ancient origins are explored. He fights a group of people, is defeated and imprisoned in a tomb, like Bruce in TDK Rises. It reads - “Even these corrupt fools soon realized that they could not murder the truth. So they chose to bury it from view. They hoped a hidden truth would be a forgotten truth.”

In the kids books it says Gordon is captured by Bane and held in the sewers. When Bane isn’t looking Gordon apparently runs away through the tunnels, barely making it out. Batman and Robin do this in The Cult as well.

And of course the one we all know. Batman visits an injured Gordon in hospital. Gordon asks what took him so long, and Batman says he’s been busy but is now returning to reclaim the City. Gordon asks him to “clean ‘that bastards clock” for him.

The new shot of shirtless Bruce walking up to the Batsuit bathed in light in the new TV spot really reminds me of this:

Makes me wonder how many books has Nolan actually read on Batman. Like from start to finish. Or is that what Goyers for?

I can see what you mean. They've done their homework that's for sure.

Burton's films have a lot of comic references as well, but when this is pointed out its apparently just a coincidence, and they just turned up on the day and started shooting...

I believe that he has read more Batmancomics than ever for TDKR, judging by all these great references.

Maybe it has him inspired him so much that he'll come back for a fourth: The Dark Knight Returns...

The beginning of No Man's Land volume 2:

"Tail end of the worst winter ANYONE can remember...
it's NOT -- the winters of '88 AND '67 were FAR worse, and that's just this century - but in '88 and '67, people had central HEAT, or at least standing SHELTER.
When the river froze, some thought it was their way out. Nobody tries to escape anymore."

Also there's a scene where Batman meets Catwoman, and appeal for her help:

"If I get what's on the discs, Gotham comes back to life again. Maybe. I can't do it myself. I tried. I need others. For this -- I need you. You're the only one I think can pull this off. The only one I can trust."

Excellent catch.

And of course this which sees a possible future where Talia seeks revenge after Ra's is killed. A now crippled Bruce Wayne uses the aid of metal enhancements to bring him back to the fitness level that enables him to become Batman again.

I'd forgotten all about that issue.

I think the leg enhancement owes more to KINGDOM COME, though.

It was the way it seemed to give him increased strength that made me think of this issue but then also the plot involving Talia looking for revenge on Bruce, much to his surprise. I think this issue was definitely a source of inspiration.
