Aquaman should grow a beard and talk like Bender.

He needs to grow his hair and cut one of his hands off as well to get his wacky water hand back

Y'know, the new issue really wasn't that bad. Johns keeps writing pointless **** in that's nothing but annoying (like all of the paparazzi following Steve Trevor around), but the plot is progressing faster than the first arc, and his usage of the actual JLA remains strong. Even Cyborg kinda seemed useful.

I was pretty sure I was going to regret buying it, but I really don't.

JL is the forefront of the DCNu, it can't afford to just be mediocre, admittedly I find it a ton o' fun with all the bayhem, but every issue needs to be stellar. I don't mind the decompression that they're going for, but the issues do need some more substance.

Yes, and it's definitely not that. Not yet at least.

Wonder Woman actually kicked ass too. Which surprised me a little as Tony Akins' art usually hurts my enjoyment of it.

Wonder Woman was so good this week. Genuinely excited to see what happens next issue after that cliffhanger

And Hades is one creepy jive mutha but also strangely pathetic and pitiable. He's pure evil but its hard not to feel sorry for him when you realise how much his eternal existence sucks

Am I the only one who doesn't dislike Akin's art?

Also, I couldn't stop laughing at Bruce's "I don't have a favorite color" line. Pure comedy gold.

It's not that I dislike Akins at all. It's just that Chang is SO good, everyone else pales in comparison.

And I've said it before, but my only slight complaint about the Wonder Woman series is it really seems as though Azz is much more interested in the Greek Gods themselves than Diana.

It feels like he wanted to write a 'Greek Street' style modern take on myths and the Greek gofs and Wonder Woman was just the most convenient comic book for him to tell it in

I get the feeling he doesn't really know/care about Wonder Woman or her supporting cast/mythology except for the Greek gods

I think it would be better with original characters right now rather than as a Wonder Woman story

Well, he cared enough to rewrite her origin. That's something.

Yeah, he rewrote it to make it more focused on the Gods.

I agree wholeheartedly.

It's one of those things where...I don't regret that he's on the title or anything, but I really kinda wish there was another Wonder Woman series to actually focus on, y'know, Wonder Woman.

Cain made an okay point that all of the focus on the Gods is just mirroring aspects of Wonder Woman herself...but while I think that method of storytelling works great for some characters (like Batman in Batman Returns), I don't particularly think its the right method for WW.

I felt mixed on this issue. I actually liked the Justice League main feature. It's so much better paced, it looks like Johns has taken a bit of control over Lee so the art enhances the story more than hindering it, Lee's art looks a bit better, I'm really liking this interpretation of Steve Trevor, they're showing actual relationships between the characters, and it isn't filled with stupid crap like what they did with the Martian Manhunter last issue.

The Shazam backup on the other hand, continues to get worse.

god DAMN, did Johns make Bats look incompetent.

Fights crime and Gotham STILL has the highest crime rate? Now Cyborg can get into the Batcomputer? Plus, Batman has yet to do anything beside give people pep talks?

Johns either does not like Batman or clearly does not "get" the character.

I don't see how the Cyborg thing makes him look incompetent. Computers are Cyborg's thing. Literally, dude's junk has been replaced with a computer.
