Well, yeah, I'm not saying the characters no longer exist. Everything about their time in the Secret Six is null and void, though. Parademon may not exist at all, though, given that JLI isn't in continuity anymore either, and they've just radically changed his entire race for the Justice League debut arc.

Which is really indicative of Geoff Johns' writing in general post-Flashpoint. You can tell he still has the talent he had when he was pumping out gems in Flash and JSA, but he's also been adding a ton of pointless, obnoxious **** into his writing too that reduces it to more of works of parody or self-satire than anything else.

I have to agree with Schazam. It's totally confusing with the douche Billy Batson, and I really don't get the point. On the other hand it get you a bit curious on how he will develop/change in character onwards.

But, I must say, Gary Frank's art is awesome as usual.

Especially since we don't have to see Christopher Reeve on every other page.

When elements turn up that literally make no sense or are huge 180s from how the characters are usually portrayed, I can't help wondering if it's another one of Dan DiDio's zany ideas. That man has some mighty peculiar notions from time to time.

I dunno, this feels like one of Johns' doings. On the scale of things, I think that Johns is higher up than DiDio (he's Joe Quesada's counterpart now), he has enough clout to fight off DiDio (just like how he did in Infinite Crisis) and as the person being in charge of the creative direction of all things DC, it would make more sense that Johns did this.

Maybe if this weren't Billy Batson, this story wouldn't be atrocious. But what makes Billy so appealing is that he's this sweet, innocent, and extremely polite. Out of any character to turn into a rude little ****head, Billy Batson is not the one to do it to.

Besides, we already have Damian Wayne to give us entertainment in that department. Because that's who he is. We don't need two little ****heads.
