They didnt even start the online pass. That was Sony, but EA gets all the hate for it. Its become standard now with most big companies following that model, unfortuantely
Hey. I've put my opinions in the other posts if that's ok. It's a combination of quite a few things to me.

I know they didn't start the online pass but the minute I heard about it I knew nearly every EA game would have one as soon as it could be rolled out. It's not my biggest complaint anyway.

I am officially asking the universe to slow the **** up for a second. Way too many games to play, and not enough time to finish them. If everyone in the world would go comatose for a month while I play Disgaea 4, and AC Rev, so I could start playing DW Gundam 3, and DA 2, so I can finally get back to KZ3...I'd really appreciate it. I haven't even DL'd the X-Men and Simpson's arcade games I was looking forward to because I'm so behind.

Haha damn. Im in a lull myself. I find myself just staring at all my games trying to figure out what i want to play. Then i pick a game and play it for like 5 min before i realize its not what i want to be playing. Im ready for the Witcher 2, then Max Payne.

Heh. That's like when I was in my, "I want to be immersed in a game" state last year. I'd pop in Oblivion for 10 mins, and suddenly get a craving for GTA 4. Then after cruising around for a bit I'd suddenly get an urge to play Fallout. I need 6 arms, and 3 PS3's and TV's.

How is Disgaea 4? I started playing 3 recently and like it quite a bit.

I wouldn't put a rush on the Simpsons arcade game lol. Even as someone who loved the original as a kid, I found it to be a chore to play through.

I like it. The main hero is a sardine eating vampire, with a partial werewolf manservant. The character sprites/models have finally been remade to look much better. New abilities were added like monsters fusing into a huge monster, a weapon, or a huge ass weapon, lol. The comedy is still there too. Plus they added in a map maker where you can also DL other ppl's maps. I'm only 3 chapters in so far though

True. Nostalgia glasses only can cover up so much. Though I was more looking forward to X-Men. I also want to get Breath of Fire IV too (if 3 was up I'd have jumped all over it). Tomorrow I'm putting $50 in my wallet. Probably going to Dragon Age 2 DLC mainly so I'll be ready to give it a run through.

Cliff Bleszinski on his new game design philosophy:

Quote:
"I always refer to that .gif that went around [comparing the] first-person shooter design of Doom to where we’ve gotten to: Straight hall, cutscenes, straight hall, cutscenes, straight hall, cutscene. So many games these days, with their campaigns, feel like the game designer is chasing you with a sharp pointed stick saying,’You will feel something at this moment.’

My favorite games lately are the ones when you come into a hallway and you are like, ‘Oh, how did that dungeon instance turn out for you?’ ‘Oh, well I went in as a mage and I did this or I snuck entirely through that one,’ or, ‘I haven’t even seen that, where is that?’ as opposed to, ‘Yes, I came around the exact same corner, and I saw the exact same tower fall, and I saw the exact same experience.’ and if you look at it from a production standpoint, the fancy falling tower in the scripted experience is actually much more expensive but it yields far less of the actual gameplay.

So I want to get back to systems interacting. This is something will wright talks about all the time and always has. I would sit there, being a 20-something at dice, being "I’m Cliffy, blah blah blah" with all that young swagger, not listening to his wisdom, and [saying] ‘I’m going to go make a fancy scripted hollywood experience.’

[I’m] really realizing that there is a direct correlation, bugs notwithstanding, between how good your game is and how many unique youtube videos it can yield. And that is one of the mantras I am continuing to hammer.

The amount of viral videos we sent around of Skyrim of millions of wheels of cheese going down a mountain or a frozen bear that flies off into space -- it is just golden. You want a game where programmers are like, ‘how did that happen? Did I even code that?’ that is when things are great and we had that in many ways with unreal tournament [with] emerging gameplay [like] teleporting and the translocator. I want to get all of our games back towards that in the future."

Says the guy who was responsible for 3 of the most scripted games on the market.

Not that I'm complaining. I think the Gears games are great and i think Mr. Bleszinski is brilliant.

Haha, true. I think he's admitting that here and talking about life post Gears.

If he's in SAG, I don't think he can really just agree to do something. But I don't know all of the union's rules. He might have agreed to a lower pay check then usual.

Yeah, I'm sure he took a sizeable pay cut. Pretty awesome regardless. I still need to watch season 9.

I guess Computer Desks are not welcome anymore. We will just need one long ass table in our rooms. Put all of the Consoles right next to each other
