I'm not going to condemn the man for seeking out film projects like these, but his desperation for an Oscar is becoming extremely apparent.

Jean Dujardin in talks for a role.

Quote:
Hot off his Oscar-winning turn in THE ARTIST, French thesp Jean Dujardin is in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill in Martin Scorsese’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, Variety's Jeff Sneider reports. Dujardin is in talks to play a suave Swiss banker involved in laundering illicit funds for the protag’s firm.

Hope so, a role in Scorsese film wouldn't be a bad start after his Oscar win.

Was Deniro's run of films with Scorsese equally motivated by the search for awards?

The dude is talented and bankable enough to work with pretty much anyone he wants and works with some of the highest caliber directors around.

Particularly with Scorsese I'd say it's pretty likely they have a very solid working relationship at this point.

It is apparant though i think him doing Django Unchanged actually was a good move. He's a supporting player , not the lead.
ANd word on the street is that Di Caprio's performance is very good.....like BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR good.

Oh my god... When an actor picks bad movies people say he's just doing it for the money. But has the Internet gotten so ridiculous that when an actor only picks GOOD movies people say he's just doing it for an Oscar? Give me a break. Leo consistently is in top-rate films. I can't remember the last time I disliked something he was in.

What more can one ask for?
Nah.

DeNiro and Pacino don't know how to make good films anymore. They both overact like crazy. Whatever they used to have, they lost it. And Pesci has pretty much retired from acting.

It's not a case of picking good movies IMO.
Some movies can be good without people immediatly thinking Oscar.
FOr example no matter how good the movie will be , Daniel Day Lewis appearing in Lincoln will always be considered as OScar bait.
On the other hand suppose Leo was chosed to play the lead in the next Blade Runner movie. I doubt anyone will think "OMG Best Oscar here we come ".
Juding by the response Blade Runner and Prometheus got as well as Blade Runner being a true SCI-FI flick , awards recognisition is pretty much the last thing people will think.

Matthew McConaughey joins the cast

He's really been killing it with the roles lately. Lincoln Lawyer, Magic Mike, and Killer Joe all are getting him acclaim. He's really having a career resurgance

Every time I see the title I think about the John Candy movie Delirious.

Will he be shirtless? You can't have a Matthew McConaughey movie without him going shirtless.
