Prometheus is looking more and more like a sci-fi spectacle, and they're doing a really good job of marketing it as such, rather than an Alien-prequel. I doubt that it will be rated R and a slow burn horror like the original (which is unfortunate on both accounts in my opinion). I can see it being a more fast-paced adventure. I'm thinking around $160-$180m domestically and $400-$450m worldwide (I'm assuming its PG-13 with these predictions). As for Inception-comparisons, I don't think they're entirely justified, since Nolan is a blockbuster name and on every fans' lips after The Dark Knight, and because Inception was very heavy on action and big set-pieces.

As for The Dark Knight Rises, I think it could very well do 1b worldwide. It rides on the tsunami-like wave that The Dark Knight created and it is the conclusion of Nolan's Bat-trilogy. It is a given though that the movie cannot be another Batman & Robin. If it delivers, and I think it will, it will break a billion. $430m domestic, $1020m worldwide.

Top 10 worldwide so far:

1. The Hunger Games $384,3 million
2. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island $313,3 million
3. The Intouchables $301,6 million
4. John Carter $255,5 million
5. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax $230,9 million
6. Safe House $195,3 million
7. The Vow $173,8 million
8. Underworld Awakening $160,1 million
9. The Secret World of Arrietty $144,9 million
10. This Means War $136,2 million

The Intouchables is definitely the big sensation so far. Over 300 million for a French movie is very impressive, and it hasn't been huge in its home country only either which is usually the case.

How big is "The Avengers" going to be? THR says that new pre-release tracking figures over the weekend indicate the film is presently tracking better than both "The Dark Knight" and "The Hunger Games" were at this point ahead of their respective releases - and both of those films opened in the $150-160 million range.

I think that movie will struggle to get to 70 unless it's wom is just amazing. Bourne=Matt Damon. Without it, it's not gonna do much. Also, I do love your take on Spider-man. People are overpredicting that like crazy, based almost totally on the fact that Spidey is such a huge character amongst kids and his past films have been so huge but I don't think 150 million is as crazy as it sounds for this.

I think Bourne will do very well as Renner is establishing himself as a badass action hero. I think his success will depends on how much of a badass he is in The Avengers, and how successful the marketing campaign is at showing that the movie is not Bourne and how this is literally about Bourne's legacy.

Even though I'm not going anywhere near it, I think Snow White may turn into a big blockbuster, based on this fan-interest poll and the fact that Hem's star is *definitely* on the rise this year, and chicks still dig Kristen Stewart.

I think men in black 3 may underperform. Think about it the last outing in 2002 was a turd and most of the kids today probably dont even remember the first 2. Will Smith is a big enough actor but I get the feeling it isnt going to do alot of big money. I hope snow white bombs but watch it explode and Ill have to see it get its own stalker section in hot topics, spencers and FYE.

Why do you hope Snow White bombs, it looks like a pretty decent flick?

I'm surprised MiB3 is above TASM on the men's list. I think TASM will beat it though when it comes to it.

I just never cared for the Snow White story and I hate kristen stewart with a passion as an actress. I would maybe give it a rental shot if stewart wasnt in it but It looks laughable when I see her as the farest of them all and fighting in armor and wielding a sword on horseback. Even in roles outside of twilight I dont buy her as an actress, Shes the hayden christensen of actresses. Theron looks hot though covered in all white milk stuff.

Eh, I hate Scar-jo as an actress (hate is too strong a word) and I think that The Avengers looks incredibly dumb but I'm still seeing it.

You are entitled to your opinion of course.
