If I didn't already think he was in it, I'd consider that good news! But I guess the rumored runtime for the film has left a bad taste in the mouth and I don't know how all these returning and new characters can be crammed in without sacrifices being made to them. Neeson said he was around for an hour and a half which is peanuts.

I think Neeson will just be used to help the audience find out who Pence's character is, in case they don't remember Ra's from BB. I don't mind a familiar face returning, though. I'm all for it.

In the comics, Bane went back to the prison he escaped from and picked up his friends. At this point his status was legendary. For TDKR, it depends on when he put on the mask in his timeline, as nobody cared who he was until that.

I think most of his crew would be the escaped Blackgate criminal types and perhaps some LOS guys.
