Guys relax! They probably meant to say the first act alone is just over 2 hours...

1.) The rough draft was recently just shown to the brass. Run-Time knowledge would extremely complex to acquire.

2.) History:
• Batman Begins - 140 minutes
• The Dark Knight - 152 minutes

If it's longer than TDK, it wont be by much.

TDKR will be as long as Nolan sees fit. Either way I'd take any news of a runtime this early with a grain of salt.

If it's not 2:50 or more I would be really surprised.

Just an off topic to get away from that length nonsense:
How many of you actually go out to the restroom during a film at the theater? For me I never leave the theater once the movie plays, my 8 or so dollars wont be wasted from taking a piss break.

Let's be real here RE: the rough cut. Nolan rarely films anything he doesn't think is vital. If things happen and he likes it he's uses it but his scripts are a close cut to the actual film because he is clear about what he wants to see. I don't think we'll hear exactly how long his first cut is at all but chances are it'll be very close to the final.

I'm thinking the runtime will be closer to TDK than BB because there's just soooo much character stuff to get in. Are we formally betting how long it'll be? I'm in at 150.

That's what I was hoping for. I mean, at the end of the day; as long as the story is cohesive and the action is well placed I couldn't care less how long it will end up being. But in all honesty, I was hoping for at least 2hrs and 20mins.

It never really dawned on me, with how epic this movie will be and how it's the last in the trilogy; that it could very well be just a little over 2 hours.

But I'm not going to worry, it's too early to tell.

I always go just before going into the theater, to ensure such a 'need' is unlikely to occur.

If its a film im not enjoying ill go as soon as i need to, if its a film i don't want to miss i will wait till there's a scene that seems like nothing integral is happening, if its a Nolan id rather just wet myself and not miss a second.

IIRC, in the Batman Begins special features on the disc, Nolan said the studio wanted to know exactly how long the film was going to be before they even filmed it. I don't have my disc on me right now where I am to check 100%, but they knew, for that film anyway, before it was even filmed and edited.

I use the restroom before going into the theater and I never have a problem.

When I was younger I use to take a bathroom break every now and then when watching a movie. But now, no, not ever. I have like a small glass of water and some toast or something, use the restroom before I leave like two times; then go to the theater and not leave my set until the film is over.
