Quite alot of movement from all free angency moves to Payton to Tebow and then the bounty gate. You know I dont hate the giants at all but I loathe the jets but coming from an Orioles/ Ravens fan that market just drives me nutz, you have 3 football teams technically and 2 baseball teams and thus increasing your chances greatly of winnig titles while other cities barely have one team of any sport to root for. Sorry for that little rant.

California has 3 Football teams and b'ing about wanting yet another one. They haven't won a Super Bowl since 1994. 4 Baseball teams, Giants won in 2010.

Florida has 3 Football teams and won a Super Bowl recently in 2002. 2 Baseball teams, Marlins winning in 2003

Thing with NY is it's the biggest market doesn't necessarily increase their chances. It's been over 40 years since NY has won a NBA Finals. I doubt when Brooklyn gets the Nets it's going to greatly increase NY's chance at winning.

That being said, I don't care personally for NCAA sports. I mean states like Kentucky who have a big weekend for college sports bigger than pro sports rivalry. NY/NJ does have college sports teams. (Rutgers, St. Johns, Syracuse, etc.) I don't know too many people who are as die hard as people who live down south.

Further, I like to think of myself as an exception. I love the NY Giants, but I would cheer for the Jets if they made it further. There are a lot of NY fans where it's only one team and hate the other. A lot of Jets fans were saying that a Giants vs. Patriots Super Bowl was the worst outcome for them.

I mean what does it say though for Rex Ryan running his mouth when the team he shares a stadium with brings home the big one in a year he garunteed a win?

Yeah, he went on to say guaranteeing put undue pressure on the Jets last year and wasn't going to do it this year. And of course they are going to need a bigger curtain to cover the new Super Bowl logo.

I think I'd rather see 10 more Giants/Pats Super Bowls than see the Jets win it ONCE.

I have nothing against the team itself (no, not even now that Tebonehead is there). It's just Ryan. The guy is a walking punchline. Is he a good coach? Yes, good enough that he's had some success in New York and also as a DC in Baltimore. But I'm just so sick of the guy's public antics. Seriously, grow up. I'm not saying you have to be Mr. No Personality like Belichick or say everything like you've been coached by your PR staff for five hours (Mike Tomlin). But enough with the guarantees. Enough with the stupid soundbites. Enough with the foot fetish videos. Okay, that last one was a cheap shot.

But seriously, stop shooting your mouth off until you actually win something. Win your division a few times instead of squeaking into the playoffs due to other teams f***ing up. Win your conference. At least make it to the big dance before you declare your team above the other team in the stadium that now has four rings to your one.

The '76 Raiders are two hours away from being deemed the greatest team of all-time. Hopefully, this brings enough attention to the team to get Kenny Stabler and Cliff Branch into the Hall of Fame. And my namesake, Jack Tatum!

Now even the bad coaches won't have to figure out how to use the flag correctly.
I agree. This new rule basically made the challenge flag kind of useless.

I guess they felt sympathetic to coaches looking stupid for throwing challenge flags when it's blatantly obvious they shouldn't.

Next thing you know they'll give teams unlimited timeouts so Andy Reid and Lovie Smith will stop making idiots out of themselves.

No offense taken. We also have a bigger market to cater to, as well. Same as we have more retail and financial institutions than a lot of other cities. And we don't have highschool football like Texas and college ball like Florida, either, where to me true home-grown fandom really starts. I don't know if it directly increases our chances at a championship or if that any sort of measure of fairness, especially in football which is a more equal league and since no two teams 'share' a championship.

There's a saying that's remarkably and poetically fitting in being so simple regarding the Jets. It somehow gets right to the core of every blunder, every embarrassment, every misstep which grows more typical with each one. It's such a rudimentary saying, yet somehow seems unique to them, as if by divine design or the like.

What is this saying? This......

You guys are so spoiled as fans(assuming you support the yankees also.). Giants have won 4 Super Bowls, the Jets 1, Islanders won 4 Stanley Cups, the devils had a couple also, and the millions of Yankees series wins.

Out of all the years Atlanta has had teams, only the Braves won a title, and only one. You have no idea what I'd give for Atlanta to have some sports history.

Rangers, too.

I also went through the 80's with the Yanks being awful, so it felt like a long time coming.

Just because NY has at least 2 teams in every sport, doesn't mean every Rangers fan cheers for the Islanders. There are Mets fans on here who hate Yankees. It might as well be another state.

If you're a Mets fan that doesn't hate the Yankees...you're probably not a Mets fan.

I'm a Giants and Yanks fan...I don't hate the Mets and Jets...but f**k'em anyway.

I had to go through the Braves run as the greatest choke artists in the history of baseball. I swear, a few times they actually made me physically ill.

At least ATL sports teams have hope, Heyward is gonna be good, Matty Ice is Matty Ice, Joe Johnson might do something one day. For a while it was a black pit of despair with no hope, none at all.

I think Buffalo Bills fans had it worse. And at least the Braves actually won one championship.
