For the record I wasn't praising the early Transformers films by saying that Fox was a better actor than a hot model.

I still think the first movie is bad and the second movie is horrendous. If you want to read me praise a Bay movie, ask me about "Pain and Gain."

I'm not a blind Bay hater, I just hate most of his films because they are terrible in my estimation.

I know Bay isn't directing TMNT but obviously he isn't just some producer in name only because Megan Fox is playing April. The scary thing is unlike Bay the actual director hasn't made one decent film.

If Wrath of the Titans had a solid script it would have been a "Decent" movie. When it comes to his sheer direction it's not like Liam Neeson or Fiennes or any of that cast all of a sudden sucked under his eye, the visuals were excellent and the the rest of was fine. Battle LA was well directed, it just went no where.

With this trend Turtles can't be any worse than the first and only a fool would actually put the turtle sequels about his work. But that's all direction. The raw potential of the story comes from other places imo.

I for one think this isn't going to be another GI Joe rise of the Cobra. It's already got people talking. Weather it will be as horrendous as the first Transformers, I suppose that will come down to which fanboys you ask. TF is arguably the most viable brand going right now. Unlike the much more faithful Joe films.

I honestly think Megan can be good and in some of the stuff I've seen her, other than the obvious and most known, she has.

In the roles she's most known for, she was pretty doing the same thing: Just being there for eye candy.

When she's actually given something to do, she's actually okay. Hell, in the TF films she was pretty good, particularly TF2.

I disagree I thought Battle L.A's and Wrath of the Titans direction was subpar. I think JL is one of the worst directors working today.

It will be pure luck if TMNT turns out half way decent.

Maybe he can be the Tatum of directors. Apparently everyone loves him now. But I'm not really that hopeful.

We'll see. But I should remind you of the current bar of quality this brand has. I stand by my assertion that it will be just as "good" if not better than what came before. Though fans may not see it that way.
Leo actually using his weapons will be a welcomed change.

The Tatum reception just shows how fickle the modern film discussion is these days. Alot of people hate and love people based on what's fashionable.

At least we wouldn't have a trampoline scene that only serves one purpose.

What? Kubrick shot his sexually alluding scenes with waaaaaaaay more style and cinematic prowess than Bay has ever been even close to. Not to mention with way more motivation behind them from a storytelling point of view.

It's not the fact that Bay shoots many very sexually alluding scenes that bothers me in his films, it's the how and why of it.

That's up for debate. It could be argued that the rape scene in say, Clockwork O, didin't have to actually show boobs to get the point across...Another artist could have shot the entire scene with the camera never going into the room.

Catwoman drapped over a bike in skin tight leather and heels with the camera up her booty is cool, Black Widow using her cleavage to get out of a chair is absolutely necessary, the new star trek, Pepper Pots was actually saved in her lingerie this last time...the list list goes and on, but it always comes down to Bay.
When shia adores at the resident school hottie(and girl he has a crush on) while she pops the top on his car, the fact that bay shot that from a teen male perspective and pretty much like a pin up calander vignette is ludacrous.

Pepper's first shot in avengers is all legs and a low camera, TF3 does the same and to the same purpose(these two characters are not only intimate and have sex, but they may have just had it)...ludacrous.
To be honest, I don't even see it that many bay movies. It's not really in the Rock, Armageddon, The island...
Bad Boys is a movie about strippers and even there it's not really prevalent. If the issue is the coverage of girls in bikini's when the scene's in a strip club...Or even on a beach, I can't speak on that.

Take the "I'll drive you shoot scene" but instead, put Megan Fox into a bikini, and you'll have a situation where bay lives up to his "reputation" sadly, that never happens. What does happen however is every James Bond female "lead" for the past 50 years is introduced in more and more "interesting" ways.

If you take this scene from that new shield show preview
, give bay a producer credit, or even worse, a director credit, the response would be the obvious. However bay's not involved, so people actually express their enjoyment of such things.

I pray April doesn't have similar scene. If so, there will be this false sense of vindication across fanboy nation everywhere.

Most of it is undeserved because it should be directed towards the media who built her up as something she clearly wasn't.
