Well, it is only concept art. There's no knowing what we'll get on screen.

I like the costume too. As it is concept art I hope they make strides to perfect it for the film. I suppose we'll find out soon.

But what do you think Cap said to SHIELD when he was requesting a new suit?

"Okay, I want my ears back. I need full range of my senses in the field. Also, the boots are ridiculous, give me back the function of my ankles and knees. The gloves make my hands overheat and sweat profusely. And there's no functionality to this belt beyond holding my pants up. Fix it."

I think the suit looks cool, makes sense if he's going to be going on more spy-type missions.

Maybe he doesn't want to wear the suit after the events of Avengers, dealing with PTSD stuff like Tony and he just want's a 'safer' Shield type job, then runs into these huge problems on a mission and decides that Cap really is needed.

I think we will see both suits, the discrete one for covert missions and stuff, and the classic one for public apereances and open battle.

I like the designs we have seen.

The costume is good. But if it's the only suit, then I think it's a bit too early to show up in the MCU. They should've stuck with the Red, White & Blue a while longer

it's by the same artist who does the film concept art as well.... when I first saw it, I thought it might be concept art for Cap 2, but it was for a cover.

Im willing to bet we will get both the discrete uniform and the classic suit in the movie.

And by the way, that pic above is awesome, like, they manage to get the actual for real cap to pose somehow. It's just nuts.

I sure hope so. I really like how it looks, and I've always liked how that costume was in the comics, but I feel like we never got a Cap costume that quite gets it right for his classic costume.

Cap doesn't suffer from PTSD. That's a rule.

idk if you were just being funny or actually pulling from some sort of resource but how is that a rule? He's gone from losing the women he loves, crashing a plane in the arctic, being frozen for 70+ years to waking up and meeting giant green monsters, 2 gods, and an armada of space invaders? You're meaning to tell me he's not allowed to be eff'ed up in the noggin after that?

I think all of that might make a man want to step down from the mantle and ease back into the world possibly.

Well while Steve is definitely capable of being stressed out, I don't think he'll be experiencing the type of PTS that Stark is facing in the events of "Iron Man 3" since unlike Stark, Rogers is actually used to being a soldier and being in "war/battleground" like situations and he's spent most of his life fighting against those who were tougher than him so I wouldn't expect him to suddenly feel threatened and wanting to take safer jobs.

If he's suffering from any emotional consequences from recent events then I'd argue that it's more likely that Steve would take on more dangerous missions as a means of coping with himself.

real life soldiers are used to being in the war/battleground too, and volunteer in most cases to be in those situations, or to enroll in the military at least. Yet still come home with PTS. Now I know Cap's a superhero and advanced but he's seen more trauma than anyone and will probably need to deal with all if it someway.

*this being said they probably will touch 0% on any of that but just a thought I had w/ Tony going through it, I could see Steve going through it as well since he's had to deal with much more and much quicker.

I agree with you on this. Cap's recurring nightmares about his experiences in WWII are canon in the comics and that was echoed in The Avengers. The sequence where Steve was beating the hell out of the punching bag featured flashbacks he was experiencing of battles and crashing the plane in the Arctic. Nick Fury referenced Steve's trouble sleeping, which is a common symptom of PTSD, one that Tony also goes through in IM3. To me it was pretty clear that Steve was having difficulty with his experiences, which makes perfect sense in light of his status as the ultimate soldier. It is simply a fact of military life that soldiers experience PTSD; showing that doesn't make Steve seem weaker, just more human and real.

This is something that I would like to see addressed if even in a small way in TWS because it is so common for soldiers to go through that hell. Although I don't want Marvel to insert a PSA about PTSD into its films, there is potential to make Steve's situation more relatable for the audience. If in the course of that some people are enlightened a bit about what soldiers and others exposed to traumatic events experience, so much the better.

If anything, I'd say Bucky should be the one really suffering from PTSD, at least once he gets his mind straight
Cap being a super soldier i think means most people would like to see him not suffer too much from the shell shock
Remember the war, yes, be upset and depressed about some things that happpened, yes
But to show Cap going through all the symptoms and horrible experiences of it might be a bit much

I think some of you guys are confusing PTSD with ordinary "bad stuff has happened, and now I'm in a completely different time." He has issues to work through, yes, but PTSD is not "issues," its a specific medical condition. Its also a deeply incapacitating one for a soldier, that would be completely inappropriate for Cap to actually suffer.

I agree

Part of what makes Cap Cap is his unquestionable resolve and will power. Sure, something can be shown for all that he has been through, but having an actual mental condition is way too far. Part of the character is that no matter what he faces (monsters, aliens, magic, totally different time period), Captain America always stands for what he thinks is right.

Amen.
Stark is a hand-wringer, because he's a civilian who didn't volunteer to become a superhero. He's still adjusting to what all that entails. Cap volunteered for this. ALL of it. The supervillains and the alien invasions and the extreme-tech weapons and the science fiction and fantasy all come with the territory. What he's experiencing is not PTSD; it's bitterness over having his life yanked away from him.

So he can't sleep because he's bitter?

I dunno about all that. I think the truth lies somewhere between what you're saying and mental experience of having faught in a World War, crashing a plane thinking it was certain death, being frozen for 70 years, and then immediately waking up find Earth on the brink against aliens.

Hello there, it's my first time around here.
Well... I have to say that new suit design looks near perfect to me.
I loved TFA design and I felt a bit disappointed by The Avengers version, but I think they nailed it this time. Althoug I don't think this will be the only suit in the movie.
Well guys, I hope to see you around often here.

I don't really want to see Steve suffering from PTSD either, but I find this comment problematic. It implies that mental illness is an affliction of only the weak-willed.

Sorry, I did not mean that at all. I mean that I think Cap is far too strong-willed to be overcome by the things he has gone through. I meant no offense at all to people with mental illness.

For example, some say Batman's superpower is his will and drive, but its also implied at times that he is as insane as the villains he fights, so will power and mental illness are not really related.
