Tom Rothman interview. Josh Trank is looking very possible.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I want it to go home to Marvel....Fox just accept some nice money from Disney and focus on X-Men and other properties. End this nightmare!!!!

On the positive side Trank is a good director and Fox seems to have turned a new leaf. So I don't think he'll really be artistically castrated.

The negative side is that Silver Surfer and Galactus are still over at Fox and they would work incredibly well in the MCU.

Oh well.

Thats what bums me out. Having FF at Fox isn't too big a deal, but not being able to have The Silver Surfer and Galactus in the cosmic MCU that Marvel will hopefully develop really really bums me out

Fox may have given Trank a free hand on his little $12 million movie, but you can be very sure they are going to keep a tight leash on him if they give him a $100 million plus movie like the FF better be.

I doubt there is much too this any way. It just seems Fox is trying to get some of the Avengers spotlight since it's in the news right now. Let's wait and see...

^Agreed. At this point they have no script and only have Trank's marginal intrest (if at all, this is Rothman we're talking about here) but really, I doubt he knows what he's talking about. If they had something solid we would have heard it offically by now.

Correlatively, we need to all sign a pitition and get a nice organiztional name like FETMS:People for the Ethical Treatment of Marvel Superheroes and rally against Fox putting this into production.

I really don't want this to go through. Marvel Studios NEEDS the FF, SS, and Galactus!

I have brought this up before, but I do not think that the FF returning to Marvel automatically means Surfer/Galactus do too - they are covered under a their own option.

I'm really, really hoping this latest talk ends up going nowhere, or at least nowhere fast enough to keep the rights from reverting. I was *really* hoping Marvel would get back FF, if nothing else.

So you paid Trank for Chronicle and you think that gives you the right to name drop him for FF? Well which one is he working on? Chronicle 2 or FF?

Sounds like a bunch of ******** to me. I know when someone's pissin' on my boots and tellin' me it's raining.

Fox had nothing to do with Avatar - any studio would have jumped at the chance to release James Cameron's next film.
I assume they are leaving Ridely Scott alone with Prometheus, too.
I was pleasantly surprised by Apes and First Class.
Word is Abe Lincoln is crap.

Marvel is gonna have to pry the rites of F4 and Xmen from Fox's cold dead hands. That sucks big time. Fox is never going to give up Xmen for sure and F4 i thought Marvel may have a chance seeing as how they have a certain time frame to put out a film. It figures FOX will try to crank out another F4 movie. Marvel has been doing pretty good and if the Avengers explode FOX is gonna keep the mind set that these films are still profitable so we'll hold on to them.

The Xmen films are garbage from a historical standpoint. I just simply ignore that part of them and they have been entertaining enough as sic-fi/fantasy films but they were not good Xmen films period. First Class was the worst of the bunch. It was a good film yes but a bad Xmen film. This is why Fox will never make north of 300 million with these films because they still don't fully get the concept of translating comic film. When the Avengers as a team of heroes make probably over 400 million domestically and maybe over a billion WW FOX will still be scratching their head as to how this team of heroes did it but their team of Xmen superheroes didn't as well as F4.

Don't get me started on F4. They were similar to the Xmen in that they were decent enough films but terrible F4 films, infact they were a step below Xmen. The best thing I can say about the F4 is that they actually managed to make a sequel better then the first. They did get the SilerSurfer right so i'll give them credit although that crap about him not having any power but it was in the board was just one of the most mind boggling things of a comic translation I've ever seen. I saw no need for that ridicules change and Galactus?? A cloud? Really. Ughh. Fox please don't try, just give the rites back to Marvel.

Josh Trank is now a good director???? I've seen nothing from him that proves that. He made one film and it was entertaining not good but that doesn't mean he's the man for F4. M Knight made one good film and the rest of his projects were so so to just entertaining badly.

Can anyone tell me what the deal with the Silver Surfer? Does FOX have to make a film and the rites go back to Marvel or is he forever tied to the F4 so thus they can keep the rites to SS and Galctus?

If that is the case then FOX has to put out a film and it's been years.

I hope so, especially if Marvel is gonna start working on their cosmic characters. A SS and Galactus somehow in that Rumored Guardians of the Galaxy movie would be awesome.

I'd love to see all concerned back with Marvel too but there is [I suppose] even a positive in that negative you've given - the surfer was still nevertheless done very well in the FOX movie (one of the few plus points imo)and we never really got to see Galactus so they could still easily go for a more comicbook accurate big G next time around.
