MMA blows wrestling out the water, but we're talking about a professional sport vs. fiction. Nothing comes close to the drama of a sport because you can't predict it.

Where the WWE fell off is that the shows are full of so much stupid **** that it doesn't force you to watch at all. Back in its heyday I was glued to the screen, and that says a lot coming from someone who is a huge football fan. The talent isn't what it used to be in the Attitude Era, but that's only because we were lucky as hell to get a ton of great talent at the same time back then. The talent level is still really high, but the problem isn't the talent. It's the booking. Stories and characters aren't that captivating. It's not older fans ****ting on the current product. It's just that the product is very stale and there is no desire to change from the top. With no competition Vince can do whatever he wants because there is no more WCW to steal away his customers. The funny thing about older fans is that a lot of us are still around, but when we watch it's so much out of habit hoping that it would get good again.

In conclusion I blame Kane. Not the Undertaker's brother either, but that guy with the numbers running around here. It's all his fault.

To use a reference common in the NFL thread here on this forum "It's all Ted Ginn's fault."

Ted Ginn ran over Stone Cold Steve Austin.

My Dad is in his 70's and watched the show with me as we always do, he's not a smark and me and him have long disagreed over The Rock, he doesn't like Daniel Bryan and can't see what I see in him, but he was dissapointed not to see Sheamus have a match as he enjoys him, and was moritifed at sitting through the rap stuff.

He has never ever liked Triple H and finds him boring, but he thought the HIAC match was fantastic and we both praised how well worked it was. He thought the Rock looked gassed and sluggish and he pointed out to my red face that Cena has never been great enough to cover for a guy not at his peak, but even he thought it was stupid that Rock won since he wont be there and Cena is the guy WWE depends on, he just felt it wasn't sensible or fair to Cena. Now we weren't drinking for 4 hours in some bar and he's no smark, so it really isn't the IWC vs the general audience.

Bryan vs Sheamus? Absolute disgrace how both men were treat, the loss means nothing to Bryan's heat because of the type of heel he is, but both men were robbed of their chance to shine in order to facilitate the appearance of some c-list celebrity chick and two dreadful rap acts that the crowd crapped on, at least Miami let Vince and the asshats back stage know it with the Bryan chants during the second match and the divas match.

Orton vs Kane was solid but I was shocked that we got no RKO and Orton jobbed clean, very odd.

Cody vs Show was a good little match as expected and I think the IC title win moment meant a lot to Show.

The Divas match was garbage with a retarded finish, but to Kelly's credit I thought she hit her spots well.

Taker vs Triple H in HIAC was a near perfect piece of storytelling, the facials from both guys and HBK sold the drama, and while the kick out from the SCM/Pedigree double whammy had my eyes rolling all in all it was a great fight, and then the ending with HBK and Taker helping Triple H from the ring and the hug at the top of the stage? that was the defining moment of WrestleMania 28.

Team Teddy vs Team Johnny had a lot of hot Ladies at ringside and it was fitting that the hottest of them all put Ace in the hot seat as the GM of both shows. Ziggler sold like a king as usual and Ryder and Miz got Miz's finish off better than anyone else I've seen.

CM Punk vs Jericho was a fantastic match and the best pure wrestling match of the night, Jericho's heeling at the start was gold and they told a story that saw the crowd get more and more invested right up to the big finishing sequence.

I didn't see Brodus and I wish I could unhear the two slices of crap that killed the heat with their awful music.

Rock and Cena was very average IMO, and it was interesting that most of the chants were "Lets go Cena/Cena sucks" as opposed to Rocky chants. The truth came home to roost in the fact that Cena isn't good enough to carry a guy with as much rust and the lack of spring that Rock now has, the amount of rest spots were a clear indicator of padding......and the result? laughable, but my respect for Cena goes up yet another notch as he showed himself a team player for a guy who will now **** off back to his B movies, there is no way in hell Hogan or Austin would have done the job Cena did.

Decent Mania let down by a mediocre main event and the treatment of two great young workers in favour of a bunch of crap that no one cared about.
Totally agree about Rock vs Cena. The fanboys out there STILL complaining about Cena after last night are just jaded. Right or wrong ending he put the company first. I even told a friend of mine theres no way Austin or Hogan would have jobbed if they were in Cenas shoes.

The Divas match was a waste. Greek Maria 2 has a great a** but watching her in the ring was painful. Watching Beth and Eve sell for her was more painful. I didn't have ea problem with who won but Maria should have been in the face teams corner not ON the face team. She's not even enough of a big celebrity that her involvement even made sense. She's got a guaranteed HOF spot I'm sure. BEFORE Randy Savage goes in of course.

Rhodes looked good in losing to Show and its nice to see the IC title matter at Mania.

Taker vs HHH III told a hell of a story. They both needed the gimmicks to hide their flaws these days they and HBK really entertained the hell out of me.

I agree with Punk Ranger that Punk vs Jericho was the Savage vs Steamboat of the night.

Didn't understand why we needed two music acts eating up like 20 minutes. If I wanted sh** like that I'd go watch the awful KISS episode of WCW Nitro

No one said everyone in General Audience had the same exact opinion on things, even though you basically posted one example out of millions of viewers in the GA. I'm saying the GA dont nitpick as badly as the IWC does.

It'll be interesting to see if Brock Lesnar returns. Only reason I am watching tonight. I will however be surprised if Rey Mysterio doesn't return soon. He seemed healthy enough to have returned last night during Team Long vs. Team Johnny. Expecting Layla, ADR and maybe Kharma to return this week.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show with your dad, that's awesome to have bonding moments like that...

But when I talk about the people I know in the business who view wrestling the same way I do, you totally cast that off and meaningless...

But you can bring up your 1 person that you know as proof that the IWC had it right all along?

Really? Come on man.

Maria was injured during rehearsals for America's favorite dancing show, Dancing with the Stars and yet still managed to make it to Wrestlemania 28.

You really don't have any reading on the GA's views either from one bar you were at, and lets be fair, when people are in bar they are buzzed and enjoy most things, espeically since they weren't paying for the show.

Actually I have mentioned for years watching Mania with my Dad and have on more than one occasion used his view in here, unlike you who suddenly magicked up friends in the business to suit your weak argument. As for being a hjyporcite, you are and there is documented proof of it thread after thread after thread, you flip flop more than a dying trout on boat deck with a hook in it's yapper.

I happen to like Flo Rida's music, but I don't think he should have performed yesterday. Hell, Madonna's halftime performance at the Super Bowl was 10 times better than the musical performances from last night.

Oh, Jesus ****ing Christ.

Suddenly made up friends? Yea, okay, whatever you say buddy. Makes no difference that I've known these people for a decade and a half. But whatever you say buddy.

God, at least I can put Metallo on ignore, and I only have to see his drivel when someone quotes him. Unfortunately, you're a mod, so I'm stuck having to see your constant garbage post after post.

How exactly is there documented proof that I'm a hypocrite? Because I like Miz better than CM Punk? Yea, pretty much, that's exactly what started the whole "hypocrite" argument because I expressed liking Miz as a character better than CM Punk.

Whatever dude, keep living in your little fantasy world. I'm tired of people like you and Metallo constantly ruining this show for me by *****ing about "jobbing", "burials", "putting over", and all that ******** night after night after night after night.

People like you and Metallo completely ruin this fun hobby for me.

I never said I did, though it would be a better reading than my one family member. I said it was nice to be somewhere where they DONT nitpick matches to death like the IWC does. And that would be true whether or not they were sober, and whether or not they hated the show. There's a reason why Taker specifically said in an interview that smarks "need to remember that they're fans", and he sure as hell wasn't talking about joe schmoe at a bar, or a great deal of the people who go to the shows or just watch on TV.

I wonder if Show's going to change the colour of the strap on the IC title now or not? Either way, I just hope they keep the classic title design around, rather than revert back to the previous/recent IC title design.

Y'know I was going to say somethign but forget it.

For any mods I'd like to file a complaint here.
I haven't said anything bad about Nell and yet he's stirring it up yet again. He can't seem to respect other peoples opinions even while accusing me of doing the same.

talking about other peoples and their thoughts and calling it garbage and drivel is uncalled for.

Most of the general audience doesn't even WATCH wrestling. Maybe because they want something different instead of the same stuff they saw 15 years ago. Now the business is so interested in looking back not forward no wonder its made the progress of a dead turtle.

People can say a lot of things about the UFC and MMA but at least it aint stagnant relying on instant gratification quick fixes and instead tries to be innovative in its presentation and its faces.
