Man Of Steel is the only CBM I really care about after TDKR. I have to see that. As for the Mayans, the never predicted the end of the world, just some morons misinterpreted what they said.

I never understood the Dicaprio hate, it just seems like sad joke.

I'm all about both the Avengers and the Dark Knight Rises doing well and making a lot of money, but, I remember the worst thing I heard coming out of a theater from some other dude was, "(having just seen Fantastic Four)Wow, that was awesome! Wayyy better than Batman Begins!"
And he was dead serious. I was very close to asking him if we could have a conversation where he could tell me why he thought that, because I really genuinely didnt understand how someone could think that. Then there was Avi Arad, who said "meh, Batman came and went". I wish you would've come and gone a long time ago Avi, then maybe Raimi could've finished a decent Spiderman trilogy |

I don't HATE Dicaprio, but I always feel like there is a better actor for any role he gets chosen for.

I'll never forget that comment from Avi. Lol oops...
And yeah, Iron Man had a TON of hype when it first came out. TDK still had its hype, but there was definitely some brief talk about Iron Man stealing its thunder. I'm not worried about Avengers. It's its own thing and in its own corner of the summer season, as is TDKR. Most people understand that its basically polar opposite ways of approaching a CBM. I think after the onslaught of Marvel flicks last year and the all-out spectacle of The Avengers, audiences are going to be ready for a weightier Batman film again. Also, Avengers might have more CG eye-candy but I think TDKR can trump it in terms of practically filmed set pieces. Actually, unless there's a stunt in Avengers on the scale of the prologue, it pretty much already has. That said, I'm hoping for the best with Avengers and at the very least it should be an insanely fun movie. BO-wise I think the film that has the most potential to underperform is ASM sadly. Kids do love Spider-Man though, so we'll see. |

I keep forgetting about TAS. It's just going to creep out of no where and be a nice surprise. I am not a fan of Rami's Spider-man so I really hope this is more definitive to me.

True dat. True dat.
Avengers and TDKR both fill an equal but opposite craving of entertainment. While ASM sits uncomfortably in the middle. It's dark, but not quite that dark, it's fun, but not quite on the same level as Avengers. That will be it's downfall. It just doesn't stand out. |

Lets not forget Prometheus. I have a feeling Prometheus may be one of my all time favorite movies. I think it will explore some very interesting themes. Prometheus and TDKR are my big 2 this summer, everything else is underneath.

ASM's only hope is to be REALLY good and have strong word of mouth. It only has 3 weeks to make its big bucks before The Dark Knight...you know. |

Woah, that Looper looks awesome, I've been excited for this ever since one of the writers at AICN saw an early print of it and was blown away.
