I am very curious about the Iron Man and Cap vs Thor fight in woods
Does Thor come across as too weak? I know he is nowhere near as powerful as comics, thankfully, but he should still be above Iron Man and Cap combined and not get is arse kicked by either one, even with "400% armor boost" |

Just got home from seeing it and just wow, absolutely stunning. By far the best comic movie I have ever seen. Just pure awesomeness the entire way through and once the new york battle starts, it doesn't let up until the end.....and boy does it end with a bang! I personally, would put this ahead of dark knight, and I loved dark knight.

This is the last spoiler that I want to hear and it's a minor one.
How good is the soundtrack? I absolutely love the Avengers theme that has already been released. How epic is it in the movie? My personal opinion is that the theme is up there with Zimmer's TDK but short of iconic superhero themes like Williams Superman and Elfman's Batman. I have loved all the Marvel themes. Thor is the best overall. Captain America has a great theme, march (credit theme), and USO original song but not as good overall as Thor. Iron Man 1 was great. Driving with the Top Down is still the best Marvel Studios song in my opinion. Iron Man 2 had a few great songs as well but not as strong as the first.

TDK and the Marvel Movies are different types of movies. Different types of good.
TDK is the traditional critically acclaimed "damn, that was a great movie" type of good. It's not necessarily the most entertaining, but it's probably the best made with the best story, acting, etc. Marvel movies, on the other hand, are the "HOLY CRAP, THIS WAS EFFING AWESOME" kind of good. Might not be the best made (although certainly not bad), might not be the best acted (although certainly not bad), but probably the most entertaining. There are no bad answers. But if The Avengers has, indeed, been able to meld these two types of movies together, then...

I also want to say that the final shot (not the mid credits scene, the final shot of the actual movie) is brilliant. Whatever you do, don't spoil it for yourself. Even if you spoil everything else.

Just I didn't want a situation where it seemed that Iron Man defeated Thor in some way before Cap arrives What I loved about that clip of Thor and Cap fighting aliens was the subtle way it showed how Thor has greater stamina than Cap It felt like they had been fighting FOR AGES true? So even Captain America can tire eventually but Thor is a whole new breed of Stamina and Durability |

Rock is waaaaay behind, man! I haven't missed his post yet, have I? Or has the collective awesomeness of the movie destroyed him?

Were Thor's flying scenes as good as Iron Man's?

While I don't think it's better than TDK, it's damn near up there. Told ya, right?

Not really. But they looked real, unlike the very CGI looking ones from Thor.

So, what's the big opening scene that was mentioned several times in interviews? Since it's not that narrated prologue linking the MCU up that was originally rumoured...

No. Effing. Way. There are only a handful of such movies in history. More men have walked on the moon than such movies have been made....
Excuse me while I try to find some way to put myself into cryogenetic stasis until the weekend of May 4th.
