Logan's one of my favorite characters...but I really enjoy him getting his ass kicked and bringing him back to earth. He's seriously the marvel equivilant of the goddamnbatman.

Cap's got a shield.....if he throws it, he's got no shield.
Cap is faster, stronger and has a shield that is stronger than adamantium

I really don't see how this hit will really keep Wolverine down for long, considering the kind of injuries he has substained over the years. It's Cap's fault for bringing a life-long X-Men member to his team imo.

I just read New Avengers #24. I can't believe they actually have Cap America asking people if they have any experience with the Phoenix and somehow neither Storm or Captain Britain manages to say anything (constructive). At least Storm storms off, but Cap should be saying something (and siding with the X-Men for that matter).

I thought it was telling was like what is it? They clearly have no idea what they are dealing with.I didnt even notice Cap Britain in the scene but you are right. He served as teammate with Rachel for years and witness the good she did with it

I immediately scanned the characters there because of Captain America's question. It's patently ridiculous and actually offensive - if I may use that word - to a lot of the characters there. Captain Britain makes no comment and Storm, outspoken former leader of the X-Men, friend of Jean Grey and witness to the good and bad of the Phoenix, just walks away? There's no way Bendis actually takes this woman seriously. "Goddess" is all she says? Really? And I don't even like Storm.

Don't even get me started on Wolverine.

And really, NO ONE should be taking orders from the Red Hulk.

I just don't know how Cap gets this guy.....

Wolverine's healing factor is so inconsistent that it really depends on what level the writer wants it to be at. If this is 'regenerate seconds after having all flesh burned off Wolverine' than I'm sure he can take Cap.

There's always a way around his healing factor.

He's gotta breathe. He's gotta see, for the most part. Mystique also stopped him by slitting his throat.

Ya just gotta be smart.

Eh Wolverine pulling claws on Pete makes me wanna throw up. The Giant size X-men team is always the team in all of comics I have loved above all others yet they all hardly ever talk anymore. Now Nightcrawler is dead, Storm just seems along for the ride, Colossus is Juggernaut and Wolverine is popping claws on his f-ing best friend. Horrible.

We don't know the whole story yet. We know that Wolverine becomes conflicted between the two sides, so they may flush out the difficult position he is in. I doubt he's fighting Piotr without putting any thought about it.

Wolverine wanted to kill Peter after Battleworld. He fell in love with Johnny's alien girlfriend, Zsaji in a week. Totally blowing off Kitty Pryde back on Earth in no time.

Logan would pop his claws at Pete. Especially these days when the X-Men look more like the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

the reason I ask is no one outside of the X-men know of its destructive nature...all they should know of Phoenix is what they were told and what they saw which is the heroic natures of Jean and Rachel

Well....when Cap can project force fields, call me.

Oh....and did you see the number that Osborn's mechnical spiders did on Logan (in New Avengers)while siphoning off his blood?? Sliced him up 6 ways to Sunday....And he still healed up just fine. Look...I'm not a Wolverine apologist. But unless he's fighting Galactus , Sue Richards, The Sentinel that fried his flesh off in Byrne's "Future Past", one of the Torches or some cosmic being.....he should beat Cap. Geez.....Cap' s a bad dude, but he takes a knife and a bullet..... bleeds out pretty good. No healing factor.....Now I hope he wins in some way that's not too insulting to the intelligence of the readers.
