So is the shot of Thor landing next to that car actually in the film, because someone said it's not.
![]() And yes, I'm putting this in multiple threads to get a quicker answer.

10/10 - The Avengers is incredible. By far Marvel's best film (and I'm a huge huge fan of Iron Man 1) and easily up there with any of the great Superhero films. The finale is breathtaking, one memorable moment after another that makes it hard to pick anything particular out. The humour is fantastic and had the sold out showing I was at in stitches, some genuinely laugh out loud comedy that fits perfectly. All the characters get their moment to shine but Hulk of course steals the show, Banner's last transformation in the film is one of the coolest things I've seen in a film for a long time. Bring on the sequel.

Isn't there going to be the extra secret scene when the movie releases in US?

Going to see it in an hour and it's been very difficult to stay away from these threads and avoid spoilers. Can't wait though, judging by all the good things everyone is saying.

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forums and just wanted to point you in the direction of both my written and video reviews for the films. I'm an affiliate with Walt Disney who distribute the film and went to the London press screening the other week and put together the following reviews, both of which have been selected as official external critics reviews on IMDB. The video review (including behind the scenes footage and clips from the film) is my *first* ever Youtube video and edit so please be kind, and I've linked to it it below. All likes, comments and subscriptions will be hugely appreciated! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cR7vIekZMw The written review can be found on my blog at: http://www.wtfoosh.blogspot.co.uk/20...ie-review.html As mentioned any feedback and comments will be hugely appreciated as although I'm an active and industry-trained film producer and critic, this is my first foray into online material. |

Pros
-The flick did a great job balancing story and the action. -The interaction between characters were fantastic, especially Banner/Stark & Rogers/Stark. -Action was unreal. -CGI was damn impressive, especially on the Hulk. Cons -I wanted a scene where Cap walks the streets, visits Peggy's grave and feels alienated in this time; you never really get that feeling. -Chitauri didn't have any development, kinda wish they has more to do then just serve for action. -I would've liked some dialog about Tony's dad between Steve and Tony. -Asgard would have been nice to see considering Loki was the main player. Overall these small cons are overpowered by the pros. |

You justified why you were disappointed with the film which I can respect and I hope others who give the film very low marks do the same. 3/10 seems very harsh though. There are so many terrible comic movies. You're going to need negative marks out of 10 to cover those if you're giving this a 3 (which of course is your right). Have you seen Punisher Warzone for eg?

Hey Guys (ladies, if any?)
I've seen 'Avengers' two times now, with only one day apart. For me, it was even better the 2'nd time around... For starters, I rated the movie an 8 - I would probably be hesitant to give it an 8.5, if possible in the poll. I'll make this rather short, seeing how it's pretty difficult to write things about this flick which hasn't already been said, literally a 1000 times before, by now :-) I will say this much though. Three weeks back, I wasn't hyped for 'Avengers'. I thought it would fail. Seemed impossible to balance all the characters and do things justice. But as you've all read, it succeeds in great fashion! I saw it at midnight three days ago, with a friend. Than again last night, with my brothers and our lady company. There are many great scenes in this film. The Action is all so cool! But believe it or not. My favorite parts of the film, were actually when the team was together talking, or at least two-on-two chit-chat. Do I have a favorite scene? Actually, I do. And it's not what you might expect. I know I'm not allowed to spoil without tags, so I won't spoil specific lines (but Oh man are they cool!) I just wanna talk about something that I'm pretty sure hasn't been the center of attention yet. The scene I'm talking about is brilliantly written. Brilliantly edited, and brilliantly builds up tension, right before the flying hangar action set-piece ensues! All of Whedons writing shines here, along with the great acting of our main leads. The whole team is together, talking. You'll notice how nicely the camera is sort of floating around between the character - all in one take - as they talk and discusses the situation. Each have great lines and ping-pong. You know that **** is about to hit the fan, because of how the music compliments the situation, dialog, leading to tension. You're not in doubt that big things are about to happen. Not only because of a flying hangar that's about to get ****ed, but because of the tension between our heroes! It's slowly "boiling", and it's all one great build-up, coming together! Stuff like Bruce Banner getting pretty damn pissed, and irritatingly emotional while explaining about loneliness and suicide attempts are all spoken off. Some secrets an truths about Banner being there, comes to see the light of day, and it's all bad_ass! I'm telling ya. ESPECIALLY the dialog spoken between Tony & Steve is so full of tension, people! The two are right up in each others faces. There is no_love here! Steve's facial expressions (no mask on) tells the audience (and Tony) that he's about one milli-second from laying a punch on Tony! Great, angry, right in your face acting from Chris Evans here! Downey Jr. delivers as well. It's just Chris Evans face that truly got to me right there. LOVED it! Tony says one line to Steve Rogers that would piss any one off in that situation! (such cool writing from Whedon! Think it's my favorite line in the film) It follows right after Cap-A asks what Tony is, when not wearing the armor (like seen in trailers. But it's differently spoken by Downey, which fits the situation better) It's really cool, guys! Let me put it this way. If Something did not draw their attention to suit up for other abrupt reasons, these two would've gotten it on in a much more MEAN way, then say Iron Man vs. Thor, which I'm sure you've all seen the fight clip to :-) I'll leave it at that. Scenes like the one described above, is what boosts 'Avengers' to being something a bit more then just your standard blockbuster pop-corn flick. It definitely has heart. The film is really really good! It succeeds in all the places where it so miserably could have failed. You guys have a strong winner on your hands people! X-Men First Class is still the best Marvel film for me, personally. But 'Avengers' is right after, biting its ass! Last edited by Naite22; 04-28-2012 at 09:23 AM. |

Same here. I went to the first showing of the day to avoid the crowds and it still had a decent amount of people there. When I got out the cinema was packed.

I just watched your video review and I have to say that it was the best I've ever seen on YouTube. You made great use of set videos and clips from the trailers, as well as the soundtrack, in your video. It's better than many of the reviews I have seen by professional critics. Very nicely done.
