Just read this a couple of minutes ago. The story, even though it's simple has a noir feel to it which is amazing. I can't wait for to read the other issues.

Well, it looks like Kate's in issue 2. I'll give that one a shot as well.

You know, going over this first issue again I think I liked it more. I was initially turned off by all the "bros" but once I got past that I think really enjoyed the feel of the book. With Kate coming on next issue I think it's definately worth my while to give it another 3 or 4 at least.

So, is it worth getting?
- love Aja's artwork - have enjoyed Fraction's work on Invincible Iron Man - never read a thing with Hawkeye in it before Remender's Secret Avengers run began, that I can think of |

Honestly, the series is going to have a "Dark Knight" type feel to it, I think. It's definitely darker and more gritty than you'd expect - especially from Hawkeye (who is a fun loving, sarcastic -- Gambit/Human Torch like character). Great read, IMO (once you get past the overuse of "bro" in issue #1).

I disagree with like, everything you just posted.
There is no Dark Knight type feel to it, at all. It's street level in the way Iron Fist was and Daredevil continues to be.

Yeah, I didn't get "dark and gritty" from it at all. Hawkeye's still mostly jovial and sarcastic (except for the beginning, where he's just a grumpy ass).

Well, I guess by dark and gritty - I meant less flashy, in a sense. He's not going to be the guy who takes on ridiculous super villains with just a bow & arrow. It feels darker and grittier to me than most comics I have read (which to be fair, is probably less than 100 - mostly Hawkeye, Gambit, and Walking Dead).

I totally didn't get a dark and gritty feeling from the first issue. I got a street level feeling, which I was looking for. They might be the same for you, but to me dark and gritty this is not.

Like I said, I haven't read many comics until recently except when I was really young. It just seemed more real than Hawkeye shooting 1800 arrows at a Skrull, or something. I guess maybe I described it the wrong way and maybe comics are usually like this.

Okay, so with all the positive reviews, I took a second look at it and I still don't get all the hype. It was okay, but I don't love it. The story was flat and cliche. I felt like it could have starred Daredevil or Punisher just as easily because it didn't have its own distinct feel to it. And I thought the art was terrible. I really don't understand all of the ridiculously positive reviews.

I'm with you except I love Aja's style. Still the story was pretty bad and yeah it didn't feel like Clint to me like I said earlier.

Was the first issue good? Why didn't they wait for the Marvel Now relaunch?

Anyone else keeping up with this?
Just finished number 3 and am constantly amazed by how brilliant the writing is. |

No. This title has been fun. It's Clint being a badass. And occasionally a little dumb, but in a way that works without being condescending.

Well apparently you're not actually supposed to enjoy any of the comics you talk about on here.

Clint is a lot more dumb than badass in this comic which is one of the many problems with this book.
