I don't know. Granted, Vice City was a period piece, but it's still a beautiful locale. I recall reading that Miami was one of the fastest growing cities, with the fastest growing skyline. Crime hasn't gone away either.

Though there's nothing saying we can't revisit Vice City in the eighties. Just look at GTA III and GTA IV. Same locale, similar circumstances, yet different.

The thing about IV was, that while it was certainly detailed... it was almost all city. What I enjoyed most about San Andreas (aside from all the vehicles) was the scope of the game. You had desert, farms, national parks, small towns, three diverse cities. Lot more variety.

I hope V gives us back some of that variety.

This was something I was hoping for. A more diverse landscape. While I enjoyed Vice City and the Miami-eqsue setting, I'd appreciate more than a concrete jungle.

Certainly. But they could for example include the everglades, the keys, and some of the outlying towns and country around Miami.

I can't wait to experience San Andreas with gameplay that's actually fun this time! (Sorry but I think that GTAIII, VC and SA are horrible broken messes.)

I liked the entirely urban settings in IV. But I can understand how people feel about a more diverse landscape. It seems the map will be huge.

That's crazy talk.

Game let you run on trains while wearing a jetpack and dual wielding submachine guns, as harrier jets flew after you. I'd like to know what's more fun than that.

Wait, do we even know if San Fierro will be in this one? Last I heard, all we'll be seeing is Los Santos, but of course, San Andreas is much more than Los Santos.

That's purely rumor. The only confirmed locals are Los Santos and the outdoorsy area. Until we hear anything to the contrary from R* I doubt San Fierro and Las Venturas will be in this.

Yea it's just Los Santos and the surrounding country side, but it's going to be MUCH bigger than what was in SA

I'd imagine it'd be the lot of Los Angeles County used for inspiration.

I wouldn't get too excited about the RDR sequel yet, if you read the article rockstars response was super vague:

Quote:
"We love Red Dead too – and are thrilled that so many of you loved John Marston’s tale and are excited for more epic Western action."

"As we mentioned in our last set of Asked & Answereds to similar questions about the future of other game franchises like Bully and L.A. Noire, we don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won’t get to them eventually."

"Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series."

I'm not sure how a sequel would even proceed seeing as how john is dead and did anyone like playing as jack marston?

I liked Red Dead Redemption, but the story was pretty weak, and the characters were fairly forgettable (only really memorable one for me was the snake oil salesman and maybe the villain).

I'd like another game like it though. The mechanics and setting were great. Just needs a better story, and a more compelling lead.

How about playing as an actual outlaw?

It most likely wouldn't have anything to do with the Mastons.

I am a big fan of the game it could be my favorite but even without the marstons i'm not sure how they'd avoid retreading familiar territory in the old west.

Although if this hypothetical sequel were to come out for the next gen there might be an incentive to come out with a sequel.

I'm a little conflicted. I would love for another Red Dead game, maybe even set 10 or 20 years later with a different character (although I'm not too sure about what was happening historically at that point.)

But at the same time, I really loved how unique the entire experience felt and I don't know if its something I would want to go back to simply because I think RDR was great on its own. But I don't think the end would be too big of a deal seeing as how the last few GTA games weren't with the same protagonists.
