Not a Tim Burton basher either! His two Batman films, as well as TAS (which was heavily inspired by Burton's vision) is what made Batman my favorite superhero. I loved Burton's version, and his gothic and dark take of Gotham city was timeless (you have to admit, those sets were amazing!). Plus, Batman '89 gave us that epic Elfman soundtrack and Batman theme.

IMO, it's the director/story-writer who needs to be bashed for that. Halle is not that bad of an actress. She maybe should not have picked that role, because it was just bad to begin with. I wouldn't blame her entirely for it, IMO...

http://gothamalleys.blogspot.com.au/...ernatural.html The characterisation is fine with what Burton went for. And Michelle's performance brought the house down. With BR we have a Catwoman that had a cowl and whip but did not steal. In TDKR we have a Catwoman with no cowl or whip, but does steal. There's room enough for both.

Hopefully one day we'll have that Catwoman that has everything - the cowl, whip and accurate characterization. But for now, I'll be appreciating what we have.

I still don't get why a cowl is so essential, other than for personal preference.

Burton bashing makes me sad, it means well get Nolan bashing in a couple of years.

Lots of Marvel fanboys are already riding on the theory that the Dark Knight's critical and box office success was due to Heath's death.

The minute TDK broke records, it's always had a target placed firmly on it's back.

Heath's death contributed to TDK's hype. Obviously the film was good enough on it's own, but Box Office is more than a reflection of the quality of a film.

I think she has only seen Julie Newmar's protrayal...
Shes merely acknowledgeing those that came before and after her. What do you want her to say... ''Oh that hack Hathaway will never match my brillance. She'll flop like that awwwwwwwwful Halle Berry''. ![]() I wonder if the last live action Selina supports Anne... thats what I really want to know. ![]()

I'll just hope she was referring to Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt mostly with that comment.

Btw, not sure if anyone knows this already, but Anne's other film, Les Miserables was also featured on the final day of CinemaCon; her performance in the clip has already garnered her some Oscar buzz.
I guess 2012 is turning out to be another 2008 for her... only better. |

Wow, I guess I assumed Les Miserables was slated for 2013, but just checked and it's set for December 14th of this year.
Which is great for Anne, although this would give the Academy a convenient way to acknowledge her talents, while snubbing TDKR.

The film isn't even out. How do you know it's snub-worthy?

Even if neither performance was snub-worthy, the Academy would still deliberately nominate her for Les Miserables so they can feel like they're snubbing a Nolan film. It's what they live for!
(Both this and my previous post are just jokes )

Michelle isn't exactly going to say bad things about Anne.

Michelle and Halle did a good job portraying Catwoman.
But I think Anne Hathaway will be the best Catwoman
