a cameo in a normal hollywood movie means nothing. but a cameo in a Tarantino movie is never a small 30 second scene that everyone will forget . we all should be angry that Cohen is not in the movie. we all should be angry that JGL is not in the movie.

Thats what I like about Tarantino, even cameo appearances can be one of the most memorable appearances in his films.

Yeah, the cameo comment was strange. He would have been in close to 10 minutes of the film by the estimation.

JGL's would have been much smaller though. Probably under 5 minutes.

I'm not broken up about this if it's true.

Was at a convention over the weekend where Tom Savini was a guest. He said he plays Tracker Chaney in this film and that Quinten named the character after Lon Chaney who is Savini's hero.
Of course, aside from occasionally being in movies, Savini is the king of gory movie FX. He said the level of blood in this movie is pretty extreme.

Probably very stylized as well, just like in Kill Bill and Grindhouse.

I'm assuming Q is going for his usual 70s B-movie look and style here....

Michael Fassbender was allegedly spotted on set. He's prepping for McQueen's new film and probably just stopped by to say hello.

Anyone have the suspicion that the material is too ugly for some of these actors and they decided late not to be associated with it?

I've never seen so many drop outs for an anticipated movie.

I don't get all these actors dropping out?

Is the film just bad or...I'm nervous.

It's a movie about slavery. That ****'s controversial.

Wouldn't they know what they were getting themselves into when they signed on to a Quentin Tarantino movie involving slavery?

And Kurt Russell played a murderer who kills innocent girls so I don't know what would be considered too far for him to play.

Yea, but it's a Quentin Tarantino film. Controversy is to be expected haha.

And surely they read the script before they signed on.

I can't see the what the role would require being a reason for these guys to drop out. Outside of taking joy in having young children being murdered there has to be some other reason. If its such a big role it would be somewhat worrisome since the release date is the end of this year.

According to Jeff Sneider, who broke the news, Costner dropped out because he had just done a mini-series and Man of Steel and was going into Django all non-stop. He dropped out because he wanted some family time. Don't know about Russell.

Travolta could use some good press right now. *Shrugs*

it'd be funny & awesome if Mel Gibson has a cameo or replaces Costner/Russell's role

I'm really really bummed that Kurt Russel dropped. I enjoyed seeing him in Death Proof, as much as one can enjoy Death Proof that is.

Tarantino had a solid point back in 07 about Russel, while it's nice to see him up on screen, for years he was just doing stuff like playing the coach in Miracle. What the hell happened to the man who played MacReady and Plisken?

You try writing a badass of MacReady or Plissken's caliber.
