I know, Elsewhere didn't give me a post worth enough to quote to make my point.
i don't know if you know this but Kids are not the target audience for this film and kids often aren't the audience for repeat viewings. Parents taking kids to see TDKR are not a high portion of the audience going to see TDKR. It's people like you and I who will see it 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 times...in the first day.

Exactly what Rag said, All Obi-Wan did was kill Darth Maul, that whole movie is based around Qui-Gon and Anakin.

I'll concede that Qui-Gon probably could be considered the main hero, but I don't think it's all that clean cut. Obi-Wan and Anakin both had a share of heroic moments too. The prequels give me a headache.

12:01 showing. 3:00am showing (if they have it) home / sleep 1st matinee showing (10:30 most likely) 2:00 showing. Dinner 6 / 7 o'clock showing. 11:30 showing. I think the max amount of times one can watch a movie in the theater is about 6 times. And I'm going for it. - Jow

That is like saying Han or Leia are the main hero of SW, ESB or ROTJ.

So you don't agree Qui-Gon is the main hero of TPM? Go on.

We were talking about TPM not the prequels, go back to the last incarnation of this thread and read it. Qui-Gon is the hero of TPM. There is no consideration, there's no argument. This is a fact. Obi-Wan and Anakin were bystanders in TPM while Qui-Gon acted. In no way are you in any fashion correct on this issue. I'm starting to think the prequels give you headaches because maybe you aren't understanding them. Quote:
The "loss" of these multiple viewings by kids is non-existent. They weren't going to want to see it over and over because it's not intended for them and furthermore Batman dying is not going to keep people from seeing it again as long as it's done with action and adventure.

Yes, because we should believe everytrhing that the man says as gospel. It's not to be taken seriously anyway. I don't get why people don't understand this?

No, I think he obviously is. Just like Luke obviously is of all the OT films.

That's what I've been saying. But people insist it's Qui-Gon. I agree to an extent. He had to most screen time and could be construed as the main.

Explain Titanic. The kids didn't see Titanic that much. That was more of an adult audience.

150 mins? Somebody should call the theatre's head office.

Sure kids and families can go but I don't know how to impress upon you any more that this is not a kids and family film. This is a teenagers and their friends/Adults with money for multiple viewings film. Kids and families will make up some of the revenue but multiple viewings from this demographic are not something anyone is really counting on. TDK didn't make it's money from Kids and families it made it from unrelenting nerds like us going to see this film a multitude of times and taking every last person we know with us. Quote:
You've got the Batman audience You've got the CBM freak audience You've got the Dark Knight Audience You've got the general audience and... You've got the Christopher Nolan Audience That's enough, these people will more than likely catch the film several times and on IMAX. People aren't taking their kids to watch people die horrible deaths and terrorism incarnate on the screen, in a serious, narrative heavy way.

Kids aint going to want to watch this film multiple times lets say 30 minutes of the film is action and the other 2 hours is Wayne's relationships, emotions and story, kid's below 10 and probably below 13 are going to be bored during those 2 hours.
